This role reports directly to the Controller and is critical to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting across the organization.\nKey Responsibilities\nAccounting Operations & General Ledger\nManage day-to-day accounting operations including journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance\nProcess bi-weekly payroll, ensuring accurate and timely payroll transactions\nOversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash management processes\nImplement and maintain internal controls and accounting policies\nLead account analysis and variance investigation\nIdentify opportunities to leverage AI and automation tools to streamline reconciliations, journal entry preparation, and variance analysis, reducing manual effort and cycle time\nEvaluate and implement AI-enabled accounting tools and workflow automations within day-to-day operations\nMonth-End & Period Close\nExecute month-end close procedures and prepare closing schedules\nManage accruals, prepayments, and other period-end adjustments\nConsolidate financial data and prepare preliminary results for management review\nIdentify and resolve month-end issues in coordination with cross-functional teams\nRevenue Recognition\nOwn revenue recognition process under ASC 606 (GAAP standards)\nReview and validate revenue transactions, contracts, and performance obligations\nCalculate and record revenue adjustments, deferred revenue, and revenue reclassifications\nPrepare revenue schedules and documentation for internal and external audits\nWork with the RevOps department on billing and integration related tasks that directly impact revenue\nExternal Audit Coordination\nAssist the Controller with external auditors and coordinate audit activities\nPrepare audit schedules, trial balances, and supporting documentation\nAddress auditor findings and implement corrective actions\nManage audit timelines and ensure timely responses to audit requests\nTax Compliance\nAssist the Controller with external tax team requests for federal, state, and local tax returns\nMaintain tax schedules, accruals, and documentation\nTrack and report on tax-related items, including payroll taxes and sales tax\nRequirements\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor or Master’s degree in Accounting\n5 years of accounting experience with 2 years as Assistant Controller\nExperience with mentoring and training in a team environment\nDemonstrated expertise managing month-end close with accounting reports\nAdvance knowledge of ASC 606 revenue recognition and SaaS accounting\nHands-on NetSuite experience and accounting automation proficiency\nAdvanced Microsoft office skills and ability to manage complex datasets\nDemonstrated experience applying AI or automation tools to improve accounting processes (e.g., close acceleration, reconciliation, reporting)\nExperience in a high-growth SaaS or subscription-based business\nPreferred Qualifications\nCPA a plus\nPublic Accounting Experience\nProficiency leveraging AI tools to automate accounting processes\nExperience with subscription management and billing platforms (Chargebee, Zuora, etc.)\nHigh proficiency in NetSuite\nSelf-directed professional with strong prioritization and communication skills\nContinuous improvement mindset and adaptability\nKnowledge with the following systems is a plus:\nNetSuite, Chargebee, Stripe, Avalara, Airbase, Ramp, Rippling, Claude.ai\nBenefits\nWork environment\nCompetitive compensation and benefits\nPosition is remote within the US (Austin, TX location preferred)\nMinimal travel\nLimited physical demands\nThis is an incredible opportunity to embark on an exciting journey with a dynamic, VC-backed company.
