Assignments vary and are designed to both support the campaign with its mission to support action on climate change and assist the fellow with their professional growth. This non-exempt position allows interaction with all of the campaign’s departments providing a wide breadth of experiences. As an integral part of the team, fellows will experience how public support is generated for action on climate, and how that shape results on a national level. We have a fellowship available in our DigiComms department. While CAC is based in Washington, D.C., we are currently working in a hybrid remote setting.\nThe Fellowship will train with the assigned team completing tasks including but not limited to:\nAssist in the development of content for social media and creative collateral, including basic graphics for social media, memes, GIFs or motion graphics and video\n\nCreate eye-catching visual content for various platforms\n\nAssisting in the development of campaign ideas and materials\n\nEditing designs based on feedback from team members\n\nResize graphics and files for a variety of end-placements across platforms\n\nAttending campaign events in Washington, DC to gather content\n\nKeeping on top of social media and design trends and incorporating innovative ideas into your work\n\nAttending internal meetings around CAC and community-wide climate advocacy efforts\n\nWho You Are\nA successful candidate has the following:\nA background in social media channels, digital media, graphic design and creating visual content\n\nAbility to write posts for social media and on-graphic copy\n\nKnowledge of editing and design platforms such as Canva, Adobe Premiere, and CapCut\n\nExperience producing motion graphics (e.g. GIFs) and videos produced either in-platform or with a third party service (e.g. CapCut)\n\nExperience editing videos for Reels and/or TikTok\n\nKnowledge of reporting and metrics\n\nStrong attention to detail\n\nAbility to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment\n\nInterest in environmental issues and the environmental community a plus\n\nBonus Skills\nWhile not necessary, the following skills will help you succeed in this fellowship:\nAdobe Creative Suite proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and AfterEffects\n\nIf you’ve managed a social media page before (including a personal page) that demonstrates your experience in this space, please feel free to share the handle of the page or screenshots of content you created.\n\nWho We Are\nThe Climate Action Campaign (CAC) is a highly effective coalition of national climate, conservation, and progressive groups, state and local partners, and key allies working to protect clean air and promote action to limit climate change. CAC staff are currently working in a hybrid set-up. COVID vaccinations are required for onsite work. Staff will work East Coast hours regardless of their location.\nThe paid fellowship program lasts for 13 weeks and fellows participate for 20 hours/week.
