Visit us at www.acuityinc.com.\nJob Summary\nWe are looking for an Electronics Specialist to join our Sustaining Engineering team, dedicated to ensuring the reliability, performance and long-term viability of our building management products.\nYou will help maintain production continuity by qualifying electronic components, managing obsolescence and resolving technical issues affecting existing products. You will also contribute to product improvement and maintenance projects, proposing changes to enhance reliability, optimize costs and extend product service life.\nThis role combines technical investigation, laboratory testing and the delivery of improvement projects, with priorities aligned with risks and operational needs.\nKey Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)\nProduct Improvement and Maintenance Projects\nIdentify and propose changes to improve reliability, optimize costs, facilitate manufacturing or extend product service life.\nExplore opportunities to simplify circuits and standardize components.\nContribute to defining and implementing electronic circuit board modifications in collaboration with R&D.\nAssess expected benefits, technical risks and validation requirements.\nSupport changes from technical assessment through validation and production implementation, following the change management process.\nTechnical Support for Production, Quality and Products in the Field\nParticipate in investigations into electronic issues encountered in production or reported by Quality and Technical Support teams.\nPerform the analyses and measurements needed to identify root causes and propose corrective actions.\nVerify the effectiveness of selected solutions with the relevant teams.\nProvide technical support to manufacturing teams and partners when introducing new components or circuit board revisions.\nHelp assess the impact of changes on product compliance in collaboration with Quality and Compliance teams.\nTechnical Documentation and Knowledge Sharing\nDocument analyses, test results, technical decisions and operating limitations of qualified components.\nProvide and maintain technical information within the scope of the role in component and product management tools, including the future PLM system.\nHelp expand approved component lists and promote the reuse of validated solutions.\nShare lessons learned and propose improvements to component qualification and risk management methods.\nResponsibilities:\nCollaborate with the group’s Test team and R&D to identify and implement corrective actions while ensuring that product specifications and performance requirements are met.\nEnsure component qualification by establishing qualification plans tailored to the specific requirements of our equipment to verify reliability.\nProvide technical expertise and conduct in-depth analyses of component-related issues.\nCollaborate with R&D and Supply Chain to monitor relevant technology developments and proactively manage obsolescence.\nHelp maintain component databases through regular updates that account for obsolescence risks.\nSkills and Minimum Experience Required\nDiploma of College Studies (DEC) in Electronics Technology, Industrial Electronics or equivalent technical training.\nAt least 10 years of relevant experience in troubleshooting, validation or technical support for electronic products.\nHands-on experience reading schematics, analyzing circuits and using laboratory equipment.\nExperience in component qualification, obsolescence management or electronic circuit board modifications.\nExperience in schematic design and printed circuit board (PCB) layout using OrCAD would be an asset.\nStrong knowledge of analog and digital electronics, circuit schematics and electronic components.\nKnowledge of the electronic components market and manufacturers.\nProficiency with equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes and soldering irons.\nStrong analytical skills and the ability to summarize findings clearly.\nStrong interpersonal and teamwork skills.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office.\nWe value diversity and are an equal opportunity employer.
