Duties include but are not limited to analyzing information and appraising the interest of patients while promoting positive community relations and acting as unit managers in their absence. Safety precautions are taken with patients as needed.\nLocation\nTBD\nClearance Level\nHRPT\nPrimary Function\nThe Caregiver provides compassionate, professional, and trauma-informed care to family units and unaccompanied children (UACs). Working within government processing facilities, Caregivers are responsible for meeting the daily physical, emotional, and personal care needs of individuals while ensuring they are treated safely, humanely, and with dignity.\nThe Caregiver serves as a frontline humanitarian professional responsible for supporting the health, welfare, and safety of assigned groups by providing essential daily care, maintaining a secure and sanitary environment, documenting services provided, and coordinating with government personnel, medical providers, interpreters, and other support staff.\nAll services shall be provided in accordance with established standards, principles and ethics of the profession, applicable professional specialty organizations, and the high-quality standard for which Acuity International is recognized. Actively support and uphold the Company’s stated vision, mission and values.\nDuties and Responsibilities\nDeliver attentive, respectful daily care to individuals and families, prioritizing their safety, dignity, and well-being.\nAssist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, toileting, diaper changes, grooming, and other personal hygiene needs appropriate to the individual's age and condition.\nDistribute and monitor meals, infant formula, water, snacks, clothing, blankets, hygiene kits, and other essential supplies while maintaining accountability of issued items.\nContinuously monitor the physical, emotional, and behavioral well-being of children and families, identifying and immediately reporting medical concerns, signs of abuse, neglect, trafficking, or emotional distress.\nProvide trauma-informed care and emotional support by comforting distressed children, reducing anxiety, and promoting a safe, stable, and respectful environment.\nMaintain direct supervision and accountability of assigned children and family units during daily activities, movement throughout the facility, meals, hygiene, and sleeping periods.\nAccurately document caregiver activities, welfare checks, incidents, and services provided in accordance with policies, contract requirements, and facility procedures.\nMaintain a clean, sanitary, and organized living environment by assisting with housekeeping tasks, disinfecting common areas, and ensuring sleeping and hygiene areas remain safe and orderly.\nCoordinate with government personnel, medical staff, interpreters, transportation teams, and other support personnel to ensure continuity of care and timely resolution of individual needs.\nRespond appropriately to emergencies and critical incidents by following established safety, medical, and security protocols while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor.\nTreat every individual with dignity, professionalism, cultural sensitivity, and respect, maintaining confidentiality and protecting the rights and privacy.\nComply with all government policies, child welfare standards, security procedures, contractual requirements, and applicable federal regulations while maintaining readiness to support 24-hour humanitarian operations across multiple processing facilities.\nJob Requirements\nHigh school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.\nMinimum of one (1) year of experience in childcare, healthcare, social services, education, behavioral health, residential care, emergency response, humanitarian assistance, or a related human services field.\nMust have training in the following skills - personal care and toileting for children; basic hygiene and infection control; maintaining a clean, safe and healthy environment; basic first aid and emergency procedures; understanding abuse and neglect.\nBilingual - Ability to communicate effectively in English and Spanish, both verbally and in writing.\nKnowledge of trauma-informed caregiving principles.\nAbility to work compassionately with children and vulnerable populations.\nStrong interpersonal and communication skills.\nAbility to remain calm and professional during emergencies and high-stress situations.\nAbility to identify medical or behavioral concerns requiring immediate attention.\nAbility to work effectively with individuals from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.\nStrong organizational and time management skills.\nMust be a U.S. citizen or a person lawfully admitted to the United States for permanent residence.\nMust be at least 18 years of age.\nMust have a valid driver’s license.\nMust have record of immunizations.\nAbility to successfully pass a required government background investigation and obtain all required security clearances.\nAbility to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.\nPreferred Qualifications\nAssociate's or Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, Child Development, Nursing, Education, Criminal Justice, or a related field.\nPhysical Requirements and Work Conditions\nAbility to stand and walk for extended periods.\nAbility to bend, kneel, crouch, and lift up to 40 pounds.\nAbility to safely assist infants, children, and adults with mobility and daily care activities.\nAbility to respond quickly to emergency situations.\nAbility to work within secure government facilities operating on a 24-hour basis.\nAcuity International is an equal opportunity employer.
