Visit us at www.acuityinc.com.\nJob Summary\nThe Focus Factory Cell Lead (Manufacturing Operations Supervisor) is responsible for leading the production team (up to ~15 associates) and ensuring safe, consistent, and effective execution of the production plan. The Supervisor translates the Focus Factory Manager’s priorities into clear expectations for the shift, manages employee performance and development, owns the team training matrix, and works through the Production Team Lead to coordinate daily floor activities. This role maintains a strong presence on the production floor, engages employees, supports change, and ensures issues are addressed or escalated promptly.\nKey Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)\nSafety\nEnsure compliance with all safety procedures, standards, and PPE requirements across the shifts.\nReinforce a strong safety culture through visible leadership, coaching, and timely follow-up.\nReview safety observations and incidents, ensure corrective actions are implemented, and escalate significant risks to the Focus Factory Manager.\nEnsure Team Leads and employees understand and consistently apply safe work practices.\nProduction Execution\nExecute the production plan established by the Focus Factory Manager and ensure shift priorities are clearly communicated.\nDirect and support the Production Team Lead in coordinating work assignments, labour allocation, and daily floor activities.\nMonitor shift performance, address gaps, and implement recovery actions within the approved plan.\nEnsure adherence to standard work, production processes, and required documentation.\nWork cross-functionally with the Focus Factory Manager, Manufacturing Engineering, and Buyer Planning to address staffing, equipment, and material constraints, ensuring significant risks to production are communicated and resolved in a timely manner.\nProvide accurate shift information and actions for SQDIP review while the Focus Factory Manager retains ownership of SQDIP performance.\nQuality\nEnsure products are built according to specifications, quality standards, and approved processes.\nCoordinate containment and immediate corrective actions with Quality when non-conformances occur.\nEnsure quality issues are documented, communicated, and escalated promptly.\nCoach Team Leads and employees on quality expectations and recurrence prevention.\nPeople Leadership & Development\nProvide day-to-day leadership, direction, coaching, and feedback to his team.\nManage attendance, conduct, performance, and accountability in accordance with company policies and established processes.\nOwn and maintain the team training matrix, identify skill gaps, and ensure required training and cross-training are completed.\nEnsure effective onboarding and qualification of new employees.\nDevelop Team Leads by clarifying expectations, delegating appropriately, and strengthening their floor leadership capabilities.\nRecognize contributions, address concerns promptly, and promote a respectful and inclusive work environment.\nProvide the Focus Factory Manager with clear input on team capability, performance risks, and future staffing needs; the Focus Factory Manager retains ownership of headcount planning.\nContinuous Improvement\nLead problem-solving and corrective actions for recurring shift-level issues.\nEngage Team Leads and employees in identifying waste, improving standard work, and implementing practical improvements.\nSupport Kaizen, productivity, and operational excellence initiatives led by the Continuous Improvement.\nEnsure improvements are sustained through training, follow-up, and clear accountability.\nSkills and Minimum Experience Required\nQualifications\nFive or more years of manufacturing experience, including previous supervisory or people-management experience.\nDemonstrated ability to lead teams, coach employees, manage performance, and reinforce accountability.\nStrong communication, organization, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to engage employees, support change, and influence positive behaviours and results.\nWorking knowledge of safety, quality, standard work, and Lean Manufacturing principles.\nAbility to work effectively with the Focus Factory Manager, Production Team Lead, Quality, Maintenance, Materials, and other support functions.\nThe range for this position is $56,900.00 to $102,500.00 USD. Placement within this range may vary, depending on the applicant’s experience and geographic location.
