We combine industry partnerships and long-term federal experience with innovative technical leadership to support our customers’ critical missions.Responsibilities\nDesign, deploy, administer, and maintain enterprise data center, compute, virtualization, storage, HCI, operating system, and hybrid-cloud infrastructure supporting mission-critical operations.\nProvide significant hands-on administration and engineering support for enterprise VMware environments, including VMware ESXi, vCenter, clusters, virtual networking, resource management, upgrades, patching, and lifecycle activities.\nDeploy, configure, administer, patch, harden, and troubleshoot Windows Server and Linux operating systems supporting enterprise applications and infrastructure services.\nEngineer and support enterprise compute and hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI), including integration with virtualization, networking, storage, backup, and disaster recovery services.\nAdminister and troubleshoot enterprise SAN/NAS storage platforms and virtualization-storage integrations, including capacity, performance, availability, connectivity, and lifecycle considerations.\nProvide Tier 3 infrastructure troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex issues spanning servers, virtualization, storage, operating systems, cloud services, and dependent infrastructure components.\nDesign, implement, test, and maintain high-availability, disaster recovery, backup, resiliency, and business-continuity capabilities for mission-critical infrastructure.\nPlan and execute infrastructure lifecycle activities, including technology refresh, patching, upgrades, migrations, and remediation of end-of-life (EOL) and end-of-support (EOS) hardware and software.\nMonitor infrastructure health, availability, capacity, and performance using enterprise monitoring and observability platforms; identify trends, constraints, and opportunities for proactive remediation and optimization.\nUse PowerShell, Bash, Python, Ansible, Terraform, or similar technologies to automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, administration, compliance, and repetitive operational tasks.\nSupport Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and hybrid-cloud environments using at least one major cloud service provider such as AWS or Microsoft Azure, including integration between cloud and on-premises infrastructure.\nSupport overseas and globally distributed infrastructure deployments and coordinate with geographically dispersed or remote teams to maintain consistent, reliable infrastructure services across locations and time zones.\nOperate within established ITSM disciplines, including change, incident, problem, configuration, and release management; participate in root cause analysis and continuous service improvement.\nPartner with Cybersecurity teams to implement federal security and configuration requirements, including system hardening, vulnerability remediation, secure baselines, STIG-aligned controls, NIST/RMF compliance, and continuous monitoring.\nCollaborate with Cloud and Automation Engineers to implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC), configuration management, standardized deployment patterns, and infrastructure modernization while maintaining operational stability.\nDevelop and maintain technical documentation, infrastructure diagrams, configuration standards, runbooks, operational procedures, and lifecycle roadmaps.\nPerform additional duties as assigned in support of customer mission objectives.\nQualifications\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.\nMinimum of eight (8) years of experience supporting enterprise infrastructure, systems engineering, data center operations, or Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) environments.\nSignificant hands-on enterprise VMware experience, including VMware ESXi and vCenter administration, troubleshooting, patching/upgrades, cluster management, and virtualization lifecycle support.\nStrong hands-on experience administering and troubleshooting both Windows Server and Linux operating systems in enterprise environments.\nExperience supporting enterprise compute and hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) platforms in highly available production environments.\nExperience administering enterprise SAN and/or NAS storage and supporting storage integration with virtualized infrastructure.\nDemonstrated Tier 3 infrastructure troubleshooting and root cause analysis experience across compute, virtualization, storage, operating systems, and related infrastructure services.\nExperience designing, implementing, or supporting high availability, disaster recovery, backup, resiliency, and business-continuity solutions.\nExperience managing infrastructure lifecycle activities, including upgrades, migrations, technology refresh, and EOL/EOS remediation.\nExperience with enterprise infrastructure monitoring, capacity management, performance analysis, and availability management.\nHands-on scripting or automation experience using PowerShell, Bash, Python, Ansible, Terraform, or similar technologies.\nExperience supporting at least one major cloud service provider (AWS or Microsoft Azure) and hybrid-cloud integration with enterprise on-premises infrastructure.\nExperience working within ITSM processes and disciplines, including change management, incident management, problem management, and root cause analysis.\nExperience implementing federal security and configuration compliance requirements, such as NIST RMF, NIST SP 800-53, FISMA, STIGs, vulnerability remediation, system hardening, or comparable federal standards.\nStrong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, communication, and cross-team collaboration skills.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience supporting globally distributed, overseas, or remote enterprise infrastructure environments, particularly environments requiring coordination across geographically dispersed teams.\nVMware Certified Professional (VCP) or equivalent VMware certification.\nExperience with enterprise HCI platforms such as VMware vSAN/VxRail, Nutanix, or comparable technologies.\nExperience with enterprise storage technologies and vendors supporting SAN/NAS, backup, replication, and disaster recovery.\nAWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate or Professional, Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate, or comparable cloud certification.\nRed Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA), Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), Microsoft server certification, or comparable operating system certification.\nExperience supporting the U.S. Department of State or other federal civilian agencies.\nExperience with enterprise monitoring, observability, capacity, and performance-management platforms.\nExperience with Kubernetes, Docker, OpenShift, or related enterprise container technologies.\nFamiliarity with Zero Trust principles and secure hybrid-cloud infrastructure architectures.\nClearance Requirement\nActive Secret or Top Secret security clearance required.\nMin\nUSD $145,000.00/Yr.Max\nUSD $170,000.00/Yr.Salary Range\nThe salary range for this position represents Acuity's good faith estimate of the compensation for this job title at the time of posting.
