BUILD program is a two-year rotational experience that develops high-potential early career talent into impactful professionals through hands-on experience. BUILD participants rotate to a different functional area every six months to build business acumen and skill proficiency. Upon completion of BUILD, participants will have developed broad business understanding, functional expertise, and the professional skills needed to contribute in future career opportunities across Acuity.\nBUILD is designed for early-career talent who are curious, adaptable, and motivated to grow through hands-on experience. Successful participants demonstrate strong learning agility, communication skills, ownership, critical thinking, and a willingness to seek feedback, solve problems, and contribute in a fast-paced environment. BUILD participants are expected to take an active role in their development while building the business, professional, and technical skills needed for future career opportunities at Acuity.\nThis role is based in Atlanta, GA, and starts employment on July 12, 2027.\nKey Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)\nBUILD participants also participate in personal growth activities to enhance business acumen, including:\nSpecialized onboarding for all participants to ensure integration into the organization and program.\nOne-on-one mentorship from an ABL Tech leader for the duration of the program (and beyond).\nSocial and networking events to forge connections with peers and leaders across the business.\nFrequent opportunities to collaborate with program peers to learn about various business processes and initiatives.\nLeadership report-out meetings to share rotational learnings and performance reviews to identify strengths and areas for growth.\nWe’re looking for early-career talent who:\nEnjoy learning and taking on new challenges\nTake ownership and follow through on commitments\nCollaborate effectively with others\nSeek feedback and continuously improve\nEmbrace technology and new ways of working\nAre excited to build a long-term career at Acuity\nKey Responsibilities\nWhile specific projects are determined by the needs of the business, each BUILD track has a set of “functional requirements” to ensure that all participants have similar learning objectives. All Engineering BUILD Specialists will rotate into the following:\nNew Product Development \nSustaining/VAVE \nAdditionally, with the remaining rotations, we will connect with the interests of the individual with our current business needs to explore such areas as:\nOptical Engineering \nLight Engine Engineering \nOutsourced Product Development \nProduct Support \nProduct Management \nProject Management \nTech Support, Field Service, Post Sales \nLabs & Certifications \nPreferred Skills and Experience\nQualifications\nA Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts in Electrical Engineering or Electrical is required.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills are required.\nDemonstrated problem-solving and time-management skills are required.\nIntermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite is required. \nIntermediate general proficiency with AI tools is required.\nDemonstrated exposure to electronic component selection, circuit analysis, and SPICE simulation.\nExposure to Altium Designer or other CAD tools.\nExposure to developing products for the lighting and/or LED industry.\nExposure to firmware development or embedded systems programming.\nAvailability to travel based on business needs (up to 20%) is required.\nLeadership experience influencing change, people, and processes is highly preferred.\nTeam-oriented with a drive to take the initiative is highly preferred.\nLess than two years of related work experience is highly preferred.\nWe value diversity and are an equal opportunity employer.
