We achieve growth through the development of innovative new products and services, including lighting, lighting controls, building management solutions, and location-aware applications.\nJob Summary\nWe're seeking a Lead Software Quality Engineer to help shape and advance Quality Engineering practices across the Acuity Spatial Intelligence Division, providing technical leadership and driving meaningful improvements in how we build and deliver quality software.\nThis person will provide technical leadership for Quality Engineering, drive continuous improvement in how quality is built throughout the software development lifecycle, and help teams establish effective strategies for testing, automation, and quality evidence.\nKey Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)\nPartner with software engineers, product, architecture, and other stakeholders to define effective quality strategies, identify risks, and build quality throughout the software development lifecycle.\nServe as a trusted Quality Engineering expert and coach, providing technical direction and helping teams make risk-based decisions on testing, automation, tooling, and quality practices.\nIdentify opportunities to improve engineering effectiveness through automation, tooling, testability, and process improvements, including automating complex integration and end-to-end scenarios where appropriate.\nProactively identify systemic quality risks and improvement opportunities, using data and quality signals to investigate problems and drive solutions to implementation.\nRaise the technical capability of the Quality Engineering team through mentoring, technical guidance, reviews, knowledge sharing, and constructive feedback.\nSkills and Minimum Experience Required\nBachelor's Degree or equivalent relevant work experience.\n5+ years of Quality Engineering experience defining quality strategies for complex, integrated software systems, including automation, integration, and end-to-end testing.\nStrong programming or scripting experience with the ability to design, review, and guide test automation solutions.\nDemonstrated experience leading technical initiatives and influencing decisions across engineering teams without direct authority.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical risks and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences.\nPreferred Skills and Experience\nExperience with observability or production quality signals.\nExperience with AI-assisted software development or quality engineering tools\nWe value diversity and are an equal opportunity employer.
