This role involves both office and field work, requiring strong technical knowledge and physical capability to work in various outdoor environments. This role supports utility reliability, wildfire mitigation, and public safety by identifying condition issues, compliance violations, and potential hazards.Candidates must be knowledgeable in GO 95 and GO 165 inspection standards, with a proven background in field inspection, construction, or maintenance of utility assets.\nResponsibilities\nConduct visual and structural inspections of poles, crossarms, insulators, transformers, conductors, and related components on transmission and distribution circuits.\nIdentify and document defects, clearance violations, deterioration, and non-conforming installation.\nRecord condition data accurately using company inspection software and mobile data collection tools\nVerify equipment tagging, pole numbering, and asset location accuracy using GPS and GIS tools.\nPerform ground-based and UAS inspections in accordance with inspection standards.\nEnsure all work complies with CPUC General Orders 95 and 165, company procedures, and client specifications.\nCollaborate with managers, safety teams, and QA/QC personnel to ensure high-quality inspection data.\nParticipate in daily tailboards, safety briefings, and job hazard analyses.\nComply with all company, client, and regulatory safety requirements, including GO 165 standards for periodic inspection.\nConduct Job Safety Analyses (JSA) and participate in daily safety tailboards\nIdentify and report safety hazards, environmental issues, and near-miss incidents.\nMaintain personal protective equipment (PPE) and climbing gear in proper condition.\nPromote a “Safety First” mindset across all inspection and field activities.\nOther work duties as assigned.\nRequirements\nKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:\nAbility to read and interpret maps, drawings, and construction standards.\nProficient in mobile inspection and GIS-based data systems.\nAbility to perform physically demanding fieldwork in various terrain and weather conditions.\nEDUCATION:\nMinimum 3 years of experience in electrical utility field inspection, line work, or maintenance.\nWorking knowledge of CPUC GO 95 (Overhead Line Construction Rules) and GO 165 (Inspection and Maintenance Standards).\nUnderstanding of distribution and transmission system configurations and hardware components.\nValid FAA Remote Pilot Certificate (Part 107) or equivalent regulatory certification for commercial UAS \nValid driver’s license and ability to travel within assigned areas.\nBenefits\nCompetitive Salary\nMedical, dental, and supplemental insurance\n401K Plan\nPaid Holidays\nPaid Time Off\nPay Transparency: As per applicable state law the job posting pay range is $37.50- $60.58 an hour depending on experience and applicable certifications.\nWorking Conditions\nField-based position with significant time outdoors and at construction or maintenance sites.\nExposure to electrical hazards, high-voltage areas, and noise.\nUse of PPE (hard hats, safety glasses, FR clothing, insulated gloves, fall protection).\nPHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS & DEMANDS:\nAbility to work outdoors in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow).\nMust be able to walk long distances over uneven terrain.\nAbility to climb ladders, poles, and structures when necessary.\nCapable of lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs of equipment or tools.\nMust have good vision and hearing (corrective aids acceptable).\nComfortable working at heights and in proximity to energized electrical equipment.\nAbility to perform repetitive motions, bend, kneel, crouch, and stand for extended periods.\nCompany Overview\nAcuren’s strength begins with its people.
