AC/DC\nJob Family: Mechanical (Motor division)\nJOB PURPOSE:\nTo carry out maintenance, overhauling and installation activities on the Electrical motor machinery in accordance with standard operating procedures and industry best practices, HSE guidelines and quality standards to attain cost-effectiveness, functionality and reliability.\nKey Accountabilities\nInventory:\nCheck the necessary stock levels of consumables to enable the work manager’s effective inventory control and timely re-ordering.\nDocumentation:\nUpdate the maintenance logbook and record details of work carried out including daily progress report, filling out measurement protocols, defaults, problems, various findings and conditions of electrical motor and all accessories fitted with the motor and record all readings.\nSign the daily meeting- and Toolbox talk attendance sheets\nContinuous Improvement\nContribute to the identification and implementation of change initiatives, programmes and projects in line with the organisation’s standards.\nPolicies, Processes, Systems & Procedures\nAdhere to all relevant organisational and departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out to the required standard and in a consistent manner.\nHealth, Safety, Security & Environment\nAdhere to all relevant health, safety, security and environmental procedures, instructions and controls so that the safety of employees and environmental compliance can be guaranteed.\nRelated Assignments.\nPerform any other duties which the works manager may require to be carried out.\nCOMMUNICATION & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:\nInternal: Needs to work closely with works manager / and motor technical authority.\nExternal: May need to work closely with subcontracted labour, helpers, or OEM representatives\nQUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:\nMinimum Qualifications:\nMechanical diploma or apprenticeship in electrical field (motor related work)\nMinimum Experience:\nMust have a minimum of 5 years’ experience maintaining, dismantling, and installing electrical motors in workshop and site and industrial service equipment including various motors, fans, and submersible pump motors.\nShould know how to check the bearing sizes, and the clearances with inside and outside micrometres.\nShould have complete knowledge of overhauling of motors.\nAbility to read and interpret mechanical and electrical documents and drawings.\nSkills:\nStrategic and commercial mindset to contribute towards the success of a new business unit.\nAbility to originate and build relationships at senior level.\nProject Management principles and tools.\nExcellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills.\nExcellent analytical and conceptual skills.\nAbility to complement the decision-making processes based on technical know-how.\nCoach and develop team members on key technical areas/ disciplines.\nThorough understanding of latest technology and innovation.\nShould know how to use Megger /and surge tester.\nKnowledge of applicable legal / quality / HSSE requirements.\nThorough knowledge of power plant maintenance, its
