This includes properly implementing A&D products and staying within the scope and budget of his/her assigned projects.\nThe Applications Engineer 1 is secondarily responsible for providing various technical assistance in support of Sales, Marketing, Product Engineering, Training, and Project Engineering.\nEssential Duties:\nPrimary duties include:\nApplication development of simple projects for battery, chassis, engine, and other powertrain related testing using company software tools\nDemonstrate the ability to lead small projects with direction from team leader \nPartition project tasks into manageable elements and accurately estimate schedule and budget for each with direction from team leader\nDemonstrate applied knowledge of technical concepts, practices, procedures and data acquisition and control hardware\nDemonstrate innovation and creativity in resolving technical issues\nCommission test stands/cells of simple projects, by performing tasks:Setup, configure, and troubleshoot instrumentation such as, well as other test cell systems and the interfaces to those systems\nImplement and tune control loops\nMonitor and control relevant safety circuits\nProvide commissioning documentation of final configuration\nObtain customer sign-off\nAct as liaison and company representative with customers during a project\nPerform follow-up technical support on specific applications\nProvide hands on operations training to customers at their site\nSupport the Project Manager with regular progress updates\n\nSecondary duties include:\nProvide technical assistance to other departments:\nProvide technical support to the sales process by presenting demonstrations of company products to customers\nMake presentations at company trade shows\nProvide support and expertise in the concepting of new products and features\nProvide testing and evaluation expertise for testing of new products and features\nSupport Marketing in producing product specifications\nAssist or fill in as Help Desk Coordinator \nJob Requirements:\nRequires BS degree in engineering or AAS degree in a technical field or equivalent to a minimum of 5-year relevant technical experience\nBasic understanding of electrical and mechanical processes\nBasic knowledge of PC operation, structure, MS Windows, and computer networking\nTravel to customer locations\nExcellent written and oral communication skills\nExcellent problem solving and analytical skills\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met.
