The mission of the Department is unimpeded availability of Facilities and Equipment. The Maintenance Technician is critical to fulfilling this mission.\n\nResponsibilities\nAssure equipment and facilities are operational, functional, and in good repair.\nTrouble-shoot and repair facilities and equipment\nComplete maintenance on electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.\nComplete preventive maintenance including checking and changing fluids, lubricating, packing mechanical units, maintaining filters, and equipment inspections.\nInspect, repair, and replace electronic and pneumatic instruments.\nDisassemble/reassemble equipment.\nSet up and move new or existing equipment.\nSupport Engineering group in completing capital projects.\nAssist instrument calibration and equipment validation.\nPerform tasks in accordance with all applicable OSHA, cGMP, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and company Environmental, Safety, and Health procedures.\nComplete demand and preventive maintenance work orders. Submit completed forms to the computerized maintenance system. Input data as necessary.\nSupport and promote safety and cGMP programs.\nFollow other job-related instructions and complete other job-related tasks as necessary or as assigned by the Engineering Manager.\nAttends work on a regular and predictable basis.\nCompletes assigned tasks in a safe manner and in a constant state of alertness.\nUpholds Company policies, including the Professional Conduct Policy and Prohibition Against Harassment Policy, and the Business Ethics and Conduct Code.\nWorks in a cooperative manner with managers, supervisors, coworkers, customers, and the public.\nWorks effectively under deadlines.\n\nExperience, Education, and Skills Required\nHigh school diploma or equivalency is required.\nMinimum of 3 years’ experience in maintenance, GMP experience strongly preferred\nKnowledge of digital control systems and programmable controllers is preferred.\nAbility to learn and assimilate technical matters, troubleshoot machine problems, recommend solution and/or fix problems is required.\nWorking knowledge of the basics of electricity, pneumatics, hydraulics, and general mechanics is required.\nWorking knowledge of electrical power distribution and control\nAbility to read wiring diagrams and control circuits\nAbility to use measuring instruments\nWorking knowledge of personal computers\nExperience with computerized maintenance systems is preferred.\nKnowledge of chemicals and hazardous materials is preferred.\nExperience with calibration and/or validation is preferred.\nSpecialized training in electronics/metrology is preferred.\nInstrument Technician Certification is preferred.\n\nPhysical Demands\nThe physical demands here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
