Work today, get paid today!\nMonthly Celebrations and recognitions\n$5,000 Tuition Reimbursement Per Year \nQuarterly Education Bonus Program\nResponsibilities\nThe Activities Assistant is responsible for assisting in planning; coordinating and implementing appropriate activity programs to meet the individual needs of our residents.\nDeveloping and implementing activity programs which are appropriate to the residents based on varied backgrounds, emotional needs and interests\nAssisting the Activities Director with an evaluation of each resident according to their backgrounds, activity interests, abilities, physical limitations and need for meaningful activity programs \nDocumenting activity plans and progress notes as directed\nWorking closely with the Activities Director to plan and set up each assigned activity, which includes gathering supplies re-arranging rooms\nAssisting in the development and distribution of monthly activity calendars to residents and posting these calendars throughout the facility\nAssisting in the development and maintenance of facility newsletters\nComplying with safety requirements, infection control measures, and maintaining a clean work environment in accordance with facility policy\nThe Activities Driver is responsible for providing transportation to and from the facility’s activity programs, physician’s appointments and outings. This also includes making deliveries and other transportation duties.\nLoading and unloading residents into the transport vehicle and securing residents safely inside the vehicle.\nTransporting residents to physician’s office, places designated by the Activities Department and other appointments as assigned. This includes making other deliveries as assigned.\nHaving a nursing assistant or licensed nurse accompany all residents that have any medical complexity, as determined by the DON or ADON.\nEnsuring that a charged cell phone is available at all times during any bus operation and must not use the cell phone during the operation of the vehicle.\nEnsuring that the resident LOA is signed by the nursing personnel or themselves.\nEnsuring that all necessary paperwork accompanies the resident for appointments, keeping all resident information confidential and secure, and keeping track that none of the resident’s information is missing.\nReporting to the nurse once the resident returns to the facility and accurately recording transports.\nCalling 911 immediately if any resident requires medical attention and then notifying the HFA and DON.\nReporting to appropriate Charge Nurse or designee any resident who lacks proper I.D.\nReporting any significant change in a resident’s condition or poor tolerance during transport to the Charge Nurse.\nDisplaying a pleasant, interested and positive approach to residents.\nBeing able to work cooperatively as a member of a team.\nRetesting of driving skills annually, regardless of age or driving record.\nRepresenting the facility in a professional and positive manner in dress and behavior at all times.\nMaintaining the confidentiality of all residents and their care to ensure resident rights, privacy and property are protected at all times.\nReporting and documenting resident and/or visitor incidents, accidents, complaints or allegations according to the facility’s policy and procedure using the designated occurrence reporting system.\nComplying with safety requirements, infection control measures, and maintaining a clean work environment in accordance with facility policy.\nIND123\nQualifications\nActivities Assistant Qualifications\nMust possess a High School Diploma or GED\nKnowledge on the use of personal computers, e-mail accounts, software programs such as Word and Excel\nHave a thorough understanding of the principles of best Activities practices\nPatience, a cheerful disposition, enthusiasm and willingness to handle residents based on whatever maturity and physical level in which they are currently functioning\nThe ability to be discrete and protect the integrity of confidential information and stay within Corporate Compliance and HIPAA \nExperience in long-term care is preferred\nActivities Driver Qualifications\nAll drivers must be over the age of 21 and have driven for three years or more.All drivers must possess a current, unencumbered driver’s license issued by the State.All drivers must have valid documentation of a safe driving history.All drivers must complete a basic first aid course.All drivers must complete a driving skills test, upon
