Key areas include inventory management, cost accounting, cash management, fixed assets, and the general ledger, with ownership of the month-end close. The role also provides support to the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions.\nThis is a hands-on position for a detail-oriented, collaborative accounting professional with deep US GAAP knowledge who proactively raises issues with proposed solutions and continually seeks more efficient ways of working, including through the responsible use of AI.\nThis position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident.\nESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:\nThe Accounting Manager is responsible for all aspects of day-to-day accounting for the Advanced Metals segment\nManage full cycle accounting, including general ledger, financial statements, reconciliations, journal entries, month end close, etc.\nApply US GAAP to ensure accurate, compliant financial reporting\nOperate in the details of transactions, reconciliations, and variances; promptly raise red flags to the Segment Controller along with proposed solutions\nManage inventory control and cost accounting as well as perform monthly absorption calculations\nAssist Segment Controller with development of annual standard rates\nManage Fixed Asset ledgers, including depreciation schedules and monthly reconciliations.\nProvide proper support to AR and AP, as needed\nEnsure compliance with Company policies and procedures.\nSupport the year-end audit by coordinating responses to audit requests.\nAssist with integration of locations into common ERP system.\nManage monthly, quarterly, and annual Sales and Use tax returns for all entities within the Advanced Metals segment\nManage annual property tax return preparation\nPrepare and file 1099s annually\nCoordinate with Corporate Accounting as needed on tax health checks and audits\nWork with FP&A group as needed on financial projects and goals\nAssist FP&A group with month end reporting and consolidation\nWork with Segment Controller on streamlining and implementing complex accounting for high-risk balances and transaction cycles, such as inventory and manufacturing overhead absorption\nProactively identify and implement more efficient and effective processes, including opportunities to leverage AI\nRequirements\nSKILL REQUIREMENTS:\nManage all aspects of accounting\nDeep understanding of US GAAP\nERP experience (current system is QuickBooks)\nWell organized and able to manage multiple projects on a routine basis\nStrong management and problem-solving skills\nDetail-oriented and hands-on, with the ability to spot issues early and recommend solutions\nTeam player\nContinuously seeks more efficient and effective ways to work\nInterest in using AI tools to improve processes\nComfortable in a dynamic and fast paced environment\nAdvanced Excel\nQUALIFICATIONS:\nBachelor's degree in Accounting (required)\n5+ years of accounting experience\n3+ years Supervisory experience\nPrevious experience working in a manufacturing environment is required\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS:\nAbility to accomplish the physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.\nSAFETY AND POLICY PRACTICES:\nEach employee must be knowledgeable of standard safety policies and procedures and adhere to the same while supporting the goals and objectives of the organization and recognizing the Company’s need to achieve its business objectives.
