Working as part of a two-person production team, Dye Operators are cross-trained to perform all stages of the dye process including preparation, dyeing, rinsing, drying, inspection, documentation, and packaging while following established Standard Work and operating procedures.\nRequirements\nESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:\nWork closely with the Project Technicians, Machine Technicians, and Lead Project Technician.\nProcess production work orders using FIFO.\nLoad, wash, prepare, dye, rinse, dry, inspect, and package parts according to Standard Work.\nVerify dye bath parameters before processing and perform bath refreshes as required.\nOperate automatic washers, dye tanks, rinse stations, drying equipment, and related equipment safely.\nMaintain batch documentation and traceability throughout the process.\nInspect parts for color consistency and surface quality.\nMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.\nReport quality, equipment, and safety concerns promptly.\nWork effectively with other operators to meet production goals.\nMaintain a safe work environment.\nPromote a positive work environment.\nAssist in various stages of production as needed.\nOther duties, tasks, and responsibilities that may be assigned at any time.\nSKILL REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent.\nMinimum of 1 year or related experience preferred. \nSolid technical attributes.\nExcellent attention to detail. \nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills. \nGreat organizational skills.\nBeginning Microsoft Office proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.). \nAbility to multitask. \nAble to accomplish tasks without constant supervision.\nMust be able to work as part of a team as well as independently.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills\nAble to follow work instructions\nWORK ENVIRONMENT:\nThe performance of this position will require exposure to the manufacturing areas where all areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toe shoes, and other mandatory safety equipment.\nWork is performed in a research/light-production environmentally controlled environment.\nExposure to dust and powder metal/plastic particles will require use of a respirator. \nOccasional exposure to coolants or lubricating solutions, moving machinery, heat, compressed air, and electrical power. \nPersonal protective equipment is required when performing specific tasks in production areas.\nExposed to repetitive use of fingers, hands and arms.\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS:\nAbility to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8-10 hours per shift) on a manufacturing floor \nFrequent use of hands for handling, sanding, polishing, grinding, and finishing parts \nAbility to lift, carry, push, and/or pull materials weighing up to 25-50 pounds, with or without assistance \nFrequent reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling, and crouching \nManual dexterity and hand-eye coordination required to operate finishing tools and equipment \nAbility to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators, gloves, safety glasses, and protective clothing \nAbility to work in a manufacturing environment that may include exposure to dust, fumes, noise, chemicals, and varying temperatures \nAbility to distinguish colors, finishes, and surface defects as needed for quality inspection \nSufficient vision (with or without correction) to inspect detailed parts and surfaces \nAbility to safely operate finishing equipment such as grinders, sanders, bead blasters, or similar tools\nSAFETY AND POLICY PRACTICES:\nEach employee must be knowledgeable of standard safety policies and procedures and adhere to the same while supporting the goals and objectives of the organization and recognizing the Company’s need to achieve its business objectives.
