Working within multidisciplinary technical teams, they will analyze complex requirements, develop scalable software solutions, resolve technical challenges, contribute to technical decision-making, and ensure software products meet established quality, security, performance, and maintainability standards.\nThis role is suited to senior software professionals who can work independently on complex technical problems while collaborating effectively with system architects, quality assurance specialists, project managers, and other stakeholders. The successful candidates will play a key role in delivering reliable, secure, and maintainable software solutions in support of complex technical environments.\nThis is a proactive recruitment initiative, with potential start dates in the coming weeks or months, contingent on contract award. \nKey Responsibilities\nReview, analyze, and provide recommendations on software system and subsystem requirements, architecture, and interface documentation. \nDesign, develop, and implement complex software applications, modules, and services in accordance with approved specifications and technical standards. \nAnalyze user and business requirements and translate them into functional and technical software solutions. \nDevelop and maintain high-quality, scalable, secure, and maintainable code using appropriate programming languages, frameworks, and development tools. \nConduct and contribute to code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards, quality, security, performance, and maintainability requirements. \nDebug, troubleshoot, and resolve complex software defects and technical issues across development, testing, and production environments. \nDesign and execute unit, integration, and system testing to validate software functionality, performance, and reliability. \nCollaborate with system architects, QA analysts, project managers, and other technical stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of software solutions. \nPrepare and maintain technical documentation, including design documents, test plans, user guides, administrator guides, and release notes. \nParticipate in technical, design, and management reviews to monitor progress, identify risks, resolve issues, and recommend corrective actions. \nAnalyze software system deficiencies and recommend scalable, maintainable, and cost-effective solutions. \nSupport the deployment, configuration, maintenance, and ongoing enhancement of software systems. \nWork with version control systems and CI/CD processes to support efficient, reliable, and repeatable software development and deployment. \nEnsure compliance with applicable security, privacy, regulatory, and software development requirements. \nResearch, evaluate, and recommend emerging technologies, tools, frameworks, and best practices. \nContribute to the continuous improvement of software development processes, tools, standards, and system capabilities. \nProvide technical guidance and knowledge sharing to other members of the development team as required. \n A minimum of 10 years of demonstrated professional experience as a Programmer, Software Developer, Software Engineer, or in a similar software development role. \nDemonstrated experience performing a minimum of six of the core software development responsibilities associated with this position. \nExtensive experience reviewing and analyzing software requirements, architecture, and interface documentation. \nExtensive experience designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining software applications, modules, or services. \nExperience translating complex user and business requirements into functional and technical software solutions. \nStrong hands-on programming experience using modern programming languages, frameworks, and development tools. \nDemonstrated experience conducting code reviews and applying software engineering standards and best practices. \nExperience debugging, troubleshooting, and resolving complex software defects across development, testing, and production environments. \nExperience designing and executing unit, integration, and system testing. \nExperience working collaboratively within multidisciplinary technical teams. \nExperience preparing and maintaining detailed technical documentation. \nStrong experience using version control systems. \nExperience working with CI/CD pipelines and modern software deployment practices. \nKnowledge of secure software development principles and security and privacy considerations. \nDemonstrated ability to analyze complex technical problems and recommend practical, scalable, and maintainable solutions. \nStrong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills. \n Must currently hold or be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret (Level II) Canadian Federal Government Security clearance, VCR’s and Controlled Goods clearances. If you do not currently hold the required security clearance ADGA can initiate the clearance process on your behalf; however, you will not be eligible for hire until the clearance has been successfully obtained.\n\nThe posted salary reflects an employee compensation model; consultant rates will be adjusted accordingly.
