This includes user manuals, help text, requirements documentation, technical documentation, web content, and other project-related materials.\nThe ideal candidate will have extensive experience translating complex technical information into clear, accurate, and audience-appropriate documentation. Working closely with developers, subject matter experts, project teams, and stakeholders, the Senior Technical Writer will ensure documentation meets established standards, accurately reflects technical capabilities, and supports the needs of end users and project stakeholders.\nThis is a proactive recruitment initiative, with potential start dates in the coming weeks or months, contingent on contract award.\nKey Responsibilities\nDocument and maintain help text, user manuals, requirements documentation, technical documentation, web content, and other project-related materials. \nReview documentation standards and assess existing project documentation for completeness, quality, consistency, and accuracy. \nDetermine documentation requirements and develop plans and approaches to meet project and stakeholder needs. \nGather and validate information regarding system features, functionality, and technical capabilities from developers and subject matter experts. \nAssess the intended audience for documentation and develop statements of purpose and scope for required documentation. \nDevelop document structures, including tables of contents, and write, edit, and organize technical content. \nVerify the accuracy of technical information through direct use and review of the systems, products, or materials being documented. \nPrepare or coordinate the preparation of illustrations, diagrams, photographs, and other visual materials required to support documentation. \nDesign and format documentation to ensure clarity, usability, consistency, and adherence to established standards. \nCoordinate document reviews and gather feedback from technical and project stakeholders. \nUpdate and revise documentation based on approved stakeholder feedback. \nPrepare and deliver final versions of technical documentation. \nPrepare summaries of technical documentation reviewed during project information-gathering activities. \nDevelop statements of purpose and scope for projects or requirements as identified by project leadership. \nCollaborate closely with technical teams, developers, subject matter experts, and stakeholders to ensure documentation accurately reflects technical and business requirements. \n A minimum of 10 years of demonstrated experience as a Technical Writer performing responsibilities consistent with a senior-level technical writing role. \nA minimum of 10 years of direct experience performing technical writing activities related to the key responsibilities outlined above. \nDemonstrated experience performing at least seven of the following activities: Developing technical documentation, user manuals, help text, requirements documentation, or web content. \nReviewing documentation standards and existing documentation. \nIdentifying documentation requirements and developing documentation plans. \nGathering technical information from developers and subject matter experts. \nAssessing documentation audiences and defining document purpose and scope. \nDeveloping document structures and writing or editing technical content. \nValidating technical information through direct use or testing of documented systems or materials. \nCoordinating the development of illustrations, diagrams, photographs, or other visual documentation. \nDesigning and formatting technical documentation. \nCoordinating stakeholder reviews and incorporating feedback. \nPreparing final versions of technical documentation. \n\nDemonstrated experience supporting multiple complex projects and developing documentation throughout the project lifecycle. \nStrong ability to translate complex technical information into clear, concise, and audience-appropriate content. \nExcellent writing, editing, research, and communication skills. \nStrong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and quality. \nExperience working collaboratively with technical teams, developers, subject matter experts, and project stakeholders. \nAbility to manage multiple documentation deliverables and competing priorities. \n Must currently hold or be eligible to obtain and maintain a Reliability Status/Secret (Level II) Canadian Federal Government Security clearance and other clearances if or as required. Other clearances can include VCR’s and Controlled Goods clearances. If you do not currently hold the required security clearance ADGA can initiate the clearance process on your behalf; however, you will not be eligible for hire until the clearance has been successfully obtained. \n\nThe posted salary reflects an employee compensation model; consultant rates will be adjusted accordingly.
