This role is ideal for early-career software professionals who have gained practical development experience and are looking to build their expertise within a collaborative and technically complex environment.\nThe Software Developer will contribute throughout the software development lifecycle, working closely with system architects, quality assurance specialists, project managers, and other technical stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable, maintainable, and high-quality software solutions.\nThis is a proactive recruitment initiative, with potential start dates in the coming weeks or months, contingent on contract award. \nKey Responsibilities:\nReview and analyze software system and subsystem requirements, architecture, and interface documentation. \nProvide recommendations related to software requirements, design, architecture, and technical solutions. \nDesign, develop, and implement software applications, modules, and services in accordance with approved specifications and development standards. \nAnalyze user and business requirements and translate them into functional and technical design solutions. \nDevelop and maintain code using appropriate programming languages, frameworks, development tools, and methodologies. \nParticipate in code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards, quality, security, maintainability, and performance requirements. \nDebug, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects and technical issues across development, testing, and production environments. \nDesign and execute unit, integration, and system testing to validate software functionality and performance. \nCollaborate with cross-functional teams, including system architects, QA analysts, developers, and project managers. \nPrepare and maintain technical documentation, including design documentation, test plans, user guides, administrator guides, and release notes. \nParticipate in technical, design, and management reviews to monitor progress, identify risks, and recommend corrective actions. \nAnalyze software deficiencies and recommend scalable, maintainable, and cost-effective solutions. \nSupport the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of software systems. \nWork with version control systems and CI/CD processes to support efficient software development and deployment. \nEnsure software development activities comply with applicable security, privacy, and regulatory requirements. \nResearch and evaluate emerging technologies, development tools, and industry best practices. \nContribute to the continuous improvement of software development processes and system capabilities. \n Completed education and/or training in software development, computer science, computer engineering, information technology, or a related technical discipline. \nA minimum of 2 years of demonstrated experience in software development or programming. \nDemonstrated experience performing a minimum of six of the core software development responsibilities outlined in this role. \nExperience designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software applications or components. \nExperience analyzing technical and user requirements and translating them into functional software solutions. \nExperience using one or more modern programming languages, frameworks, or software development tools. \nExperience troubleshooting and resolving software defects and technical issues. \nExperience conducting unit, integration, and/or system testing. \nFamiliarity with software development lifecycle methodologies and best practices. \nExperience working with version control systems. \nFamiliarity with CI/CD concepts and software deployment processes. \nAbility to prepare and maintain technical documentation. \nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills. \nAbility to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary technical team. \nStrong communication skills and the ability to participate effectively in technical discussions and reviews. \n Must currently hold or be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret (Level II) Canadian Federal Government Security clearance, VCR’s and Controlled Goods clearances. If you do not currently hold the required security clearance ADGA can initiate the clearance process on your behalf; however, you will not be eligible for hire until the clearance has been successfully obtained. \n\nThe posted salary reflects an employee compensation model; consultant rates will be adjusted accordingly.
