EHS Assistant Manager will be responsible for partnering with the DC Operations teams in Suzhou to execute company health and safety policies and ensure compliance to all applicable company and local regulations; promote continuous improvement initiatives to achieve company H&S targets and reduce potential safety and occupation health/ergonomic risks in DC daily operation to ensure a safe and healthful working environment for our employees and associates.\nKey Responsibilities:\nHandles execution of all written safety programs and policies as per IMS standard and local regulations\nEstablish and maintain all records and documentation in compliance with local government and ISO 14001/45001/50001 standards.\nDrive the implementation of the site Health & Safety accountability program and support departments in fulfilling their Health & Safety responsibilities.\nMaintain the site Health & Safety legal register and compliance assessment process and keep site operations team informed of the latest health and safety regulations.\nFacilitate hazard identification, risk assessment, and risk control processes, ensuring effective implementation of mitigation measures\nDevelop local training matrix and content, facilitate or deliver required health and safety orientation, specific safety training and awareness sessions for all employees.\nFacilitate regular site safety committee meeting and management review meeting.\nAssist in capturing, analysing, and reacting to safety metrics/reviews and incident/near miss trends to discover patterns on areas where the safety risk is the highest.\nLead accident investigations, perform root cause analysis for all injuries and “near misses.”\nConduct regular workplace inspections and audits, track corrective actions, and ensure timely closure of identified findings.\nIntervene, stop, and escalate unsafe acts and conditions that may result in injury, illness, property damage, or regulatory non-compliance.\nOversee the management and effectiveness of personal protective equipment (PPE) programs.\nEnsure vendors, contractors and third-party employees are compliant with company and local H&S standards.\nProvide H&S guidance and support for new construction, renovation, expansion projects, equipment installations, and major maintenance activities to ensure compliance with applicable Health & Safety requirements.\nDevelop and maintain emergency preparedness plans and coordinate emergency response drills and exercises.\nSupport regulatory inspections, external audits, and certification activities, ensuring timely response and closure of observations.\nPlan and implement required healthcare programs for all employees, including but not limited to health lecture, annual health check-up, etc.\nOther duties and tasks assigned to support the organization.\nKey Relationships:\nDC Operations Management\nDC Workplaces Management\nDC Human Resources Management\nKnowledge Skills and Abilities:\nKnowledge of safety, environmental and occupational health/ergonomic standards and regulatory that impact operations.\nComprehension and practical application of risk assessments.\nMust be an effective communicator and send clear, concise and consistent messages, both verbally and in writing. \nSpend time at the site and seek input from workplace and operation teams and head of the site on health and safety program improvement opportunities. \nEnsure open communication on status of progress and resolution against these suggestions.\nExperience interacting with cross functional teams.\nStrong coordination, organizational and communication skills.\nWillingness to be flexible regarding shifts.\nRequisite Education and Experience:\nBachelor’s degree or above in Safety, Industrial Engineering, Environmental Management or a related field as well as a minimum of 5 years relevant experience\nExperience implementing ISO 14001 and 45001 system and/or 5S/lean principles and process improvement in an operational environment.\nDistribution Center or Manufacturing EHS experience with mix of contract and temporary employees at a site of at least 800 people preferred.\nCertified Safety Engineer and/or ISO 14000/9000/18000 systems internal or external auditor
