This position directly impacts the following KPIs: safety, cost per unit, quality, productivity, and throughput. To be successful, the Industrial Engineer will be able to design, quantify and implement systems or processes that improve productivity, reduce waste, are cost efficient and ensure quality.\nKey Responsibilities:\nContinuous Improvement & Work Measurement\nServe as a subject matter expert in Industrial Engineering principles\nDevelop and maintain Engineered labor standards for designated job functions within the distribution center.\nReduce overall operational cost by identifying opportunities to increase productivity and quality within the distribution centers\nImprove leadership’s decision-making by providing recommendations based on data (e.g., models, reporting, analytics, layouts, etc…)\nIdentify and quantify constraints within the distribution centers and implement process improvements and technological upgrades to alleviate those constraints\nRecommend methods for improving employee-level efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities, such as restructuring job duties, reorganizing workflow, relocating workstations and equipment, and/or the purchase of equipment\nParticipate in weekly operational performance meetings to provide expertise on opportunities for improvement\nManage process documentation, prepare reporting tools and maintain labor standards for designated job functions within the distribution center\nAssist in maintaining and troubleshooting the Manhattan Labor Management productivity tracking software program\nInteract with hourly distribution center employees to identify best practices and serve as a change agent\nMonitor and facilitate the efficient utilization of the facility’s PIT fleet to maximize performance and reduce downtime\nPerform other special projects or assignments for the Director or Senior Manager of Industrial Engineering\nProject Management\nConduct feasibility assessments and create financial business cases for various projects to determine the value of an investment and provide an economic justification for capital appropriations\nLead and manage end-to-end small to mid-scale projects\nMonitor project variables (cost, effort, scope, etc.) against the project plan, implement corrective actions and mitigations as needed\nEnsure compliance to adidas & Supply Chain Management standards, (e.g., PMO, controlling standards)\nEnsure compliance to adidas Procurement Policy and Procedures, (e.g., Vendor relationships and approval governance)\nManage project budget, tracking, and report monthly budget accruals and variances\nMust interact and collaborate well with all levels of management\nKey Relationships:\nLocal DC operations team\nSupply Chain Management market-based teams\nLocal and Global IT\nRespective business functions (GOPS, Finance, HR)\nSupplier Management\nExternal consultants (as needed)\nExternal vendors (as needed)\nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:\nBroad background in Industrial Engineering technology and application\nStrong experience in working on several projects simultaneously\nMust be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment\nMust possess a continuous improvement mindset with critical thinking and problem-solving skills\nLean six sigma Green or Black highly desirable\nExperience with AutoCAD is highly desirable\nExperience with Manhattan WMS systems is highly desirable\nStrong communication and presentation skills\nTroubleshooting skills with a key attention to detail\nStrong numerical and analytical skills\nProject management skills\nMust be able to drive change without direct authority\nThorough understanding of work measurement programs such as MTM and MOST, and time study techniques\nExperience with developing and implementing direct labor standards for costing, staffing, and evaluating performance where required\nAbility to travel, domestic or international, as required, up to 10%\nFluent English (verbal and written)\nMust be able to stand/sit for extended periods and use hands and arms to type, feel, handle, grip, grasp and lift up to 50 lbs periodically\nRequisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or related field from a college or university or equivalent combination of education and work experience.\n3 or more years of experience in a distribution center environment\nStrong MS-Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, PowerBI)\nadidas follows a hybrid work model, with employees working in the office Monday through Thursday and remotely on Fridays. However, because this role supports Distribution Center operations, the remote workday may vary based on business needs.
