You’ll own technical work across live Magento 2 and Adobe Commerce platforms, solving complex problems and delivering improvements that make a genuine difference.\nWhat experience you’ll need to apply\nCommercial Magento 2 backend development experience on production ecommerce platforms.\nIn-depth knowledge of Magento 2 architecture, including custom modules, Dependency Injection, plugins and observers.\nRecent experience within a digital agency, software house or fast-paced multi-client environment.\nExperience with REST or GraphQL APIs, service contracts and third-party integrations.\nHands-on checkout and payment experience, including PSP integrations and custom checkout functionality.\nStrong PHP and MySQL skills, with experience across Magento Open Source and Adobe Commerce.\nKnowledge of Composer, Redis, caching, message queues and Magento performance optimisation.\nExperience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and production deployments.\nAbility to explain technical decisions clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.\nExposure to ERP, PIM, CRM, ecommerce security, Playwright or Cypress would be beneficial.\nWhat you’ll be doing\nYou’ll work across a portfolio of established ecommerce platforms, covering ongoing development, support, upgrades, integrations and platform improvements. A core part of the role will include investigating requirements and technical issues, identify root causes and turn them into practical, maintainable solutions.\nYou’ll build and extend Magento 2 and Adobe Commerce functionality, including custom modules, APIs, checkout functionality and integrations with ERP, CRM and PIM platforms, payment providers, shipping services and marketing tools. You’ll also work on deployments, Magento upgrades, migrations and performance optimisation. A key part of the role is taking ownership of complex production issues. You’ll troubleshoot across development, staging and production environments, carry out root cause analysis and identify ways to improve performance, reduce technical debt and prevent recurring problems.\nYou’ll work closely with Project Managers, Product Owners, QA specialists, Solution Specialists and client stakeholders. You’ll contribute to technical discovery, estimates and solution planning, while helping maintain high standards around code quality, testing, security and maintainability.\nWhat you’ll get in return for your experience\nThis is a remote-first UK position offering flexibility over where you work, alongside flexible hours outside core hours of 10am-4pm.
