This Software Engineer opportunity offers genuine ownership, exposure to modern technologies and the chance to contribute to AI-assisted software delivery while helping shape future technical direction.\n*Remote with 1 day a week in their central Bristol office.\nWhat experience you’ll need to apply\nStrong PHP development experience using Symfony, Laravel or a comparable modern framework.\nSolid JavaScript development skills.\nExperience designing and working with relational databases and SQL.\nProven ability to turn business requirements into structured technical solutions.\nExperience using AI-assisted development tools and reviewing generated code effectively.\nStrong debugging, testing and code review capabilities.\nExperience working with APIs and third-party integrations.\nAbility to learn new technologies and systems quickly.\nClear communication skills and experience collaborating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.\nExposure to AWS, Linux, CI/CD pipelines or deployment automation would be advantageous.\nExperience maintaining or modernising established software platforms would be beneficial.\nWhat you’ll be doing\n\nAs a Software Engineer, you’ll translate business requirements into clear technical solutions and deliver high-quality software across a varied product ecosystem. You’ll work on PHP and JavaScript applications, customer-facing platforms, integrations, APIs and internal systems that support day-to-day operations. You’ll create new functionality, improve existing platforms and help modernise established applications through pragmatic, sustainable engineering. Working closely with stakeholders, you’ll identify gaps in requirements, contribute to technical design discussions and ensure solutions are fit for purpose.\nYou’ll also use AI-assisted development tools as part of the software delivery process. This includes providing clear context to AI coding agents, reviewing generated output and maintaining responsibility for quality, security and performance standards.
