You’ll help build the iOS experiences that make that possible.\nWorking in our Growth team, you’ll create intuitive, reliable mobile journeys that help more customers discover and choose Veygo. You’ll work closely with Product, Design, Data and Backend Engineering to understand customer problems, shape solutions and own significant features from discovery through to production.\nYou’ll also help shape how we build software. AI native and agentic engineering are central to our approach, using coding agents and intelligent workflows to accelerate development, improve quality and give engineers more room to solve meaningful problems.\nWhy this role matters\nOur ambition is to make Veygo the easiest and best choice for young drivers. Our iOS app is a core part of that ambition, helping customers find the right cover, buy with confidence and stay engaged through useful insights, rewards and services.\nYou’ll help us learn faster through experimentation, improve acquisition and conversion, and build a mobile platform that can evolve with our customers’ needs. Alongside hands-on engineering, you’ll influence technical direction, support other engineers and raise the standard of iOS engineering across Veygo.\nWhat you’ll be responsible for\nDesign, build and maintain native iOS experiences using Swift, SwiftUI and modern iOS frameworks, taking ownership from discovery through testing, release and ongoing improvement.\nLead the architecture and delivery of complex features across data modelling, networking, caching, offline behaviour and synchronisation.\nPartner with Product, Design and Data to improve acquisition, quote to sale conversion and engagement, using analytics, experimentation and customer feedback to measure impact.\nWork with Backend Engineering and QA to shape APIs, identify risks early and deliver seamless customer journeys.\nMake pragmatic technical decisions that balance performance, scalability, maintainability and delivery speed, improving reliability, observability and automated testing.\nEmbed AI coding agents into everyday engineering, exploring opportunities across prototyping, development, testing, code review and troubleshooting while validating changes for security, reliability and maintainability.\nMentor engineers through pairing, constructive code reviews and technical discussions, sharing effective practices and improving tooling, release cadence and developer experience.\nWhat you’ll bring\nSignificant experience building native iOS applications, including senior-level ownership in a fast moving, consumer focused business.\nA track record of delivering and scaling iOS applications with a large user base.\nStrong proficiency in Swift and SwiftUI, familiarity with UIKit, and a deep understanding of iOS frameworks and APIs.\nExperience designing complex, modular mobile applications, with sound judgement about architecture, concurrency, networking and data management.\nStrong experience with automated testing, CI/CD and frequent releases through TestFlight and the App Store.\nPractical experience using AI assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor or similar, with the ability to evaluate their outputs and apply appropriate checks.\nStrong debugging and performance optimisation skills, with a commitment to clean, testable and maintainable code.\nClear communication and a customer focused approach, with the confidence to challenge assumptions, influence decisions across disciplines and support other engineers.\nOur technology includes Swift, SwiftUI, UIKit, TCA and Swift concurrency. We use CircleCI, TestFlight and the App Store for delivery; automated unit, UI and snapshot testing alongside BrowserStack for device coverage; and New Relic and Firebase Crashlytics for observability.
