This role focuses on the design, delivery, and maintenance of micro frontend (MFE) architectures, enabling scalable and independently deployable user experiences across our platforms.\nYou will work extensively with React, NestJS, and related technologies, contributing to both frontend and backend-for-frontend (BFF) solutions. With a DevSecOps mindset, you will build secure, performant, and resilient applications using modern software engineering practices, automation, and continuous improvement.\nYou will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative products that meet our clients' needs.\nMain Duties \nImplementation & Delivery\nDesign and implement scalable and modular frontend solutions using micro frontend architecture and module federation. \nDevelop applications using React, TypeScript, and NestJS, supporting robust client-server integration. \nBuild and maintain CI/CD pipelines that support independently deployable frontend modules with strong testing and release automation. \nEnsure applications meet performance, security, and accessibility standards, including support for lazy loading, code splitting, and caching strategies. \nUse GenAI tools responsibly to support software design, delivery, problem solving and developer productivity, while maintaining strong engineering judgement, quality and security standards. \nContribute towards end-to-end testing strategies, ensuring comprehensive test coverage across the stack. \nActively contribute to Agile ceremonies and delivery processes, taking ownership of outcomes and blockers. \nIdentify, document, and reduce technical debt to ensure long-term maintainability and scalability. \nCollaboration & Communication\nWork closely with designers, engineers, and product teams to deliver cohesive and consistent user interfaces across MFEs. \nCollaborate with architecture and platform teams to ensure alignment with cross-cutting concerns such as routing, authentication, and shared libraries. \nChampion a collaborative engineering culture through Chapters, Squads, and Guilds. \nCommunicate complex technical decisions clearly across technical and non-technical stakeholders. \nExperience Required \nEssential skills and experience\nStrong experience in a Software Engineer role, ideally delivering modern web applications. \nHands-on expertise in React and TypeScript, including component design, state management and performance optimisation. \nExperience with NodeJs or NestJS or similar. \nExperience with end-to-end delivery across the software development lifecycle.\nGood knowledge of CI/CD, automated testing and modern software delivery practices. \nUnderstanding of secure engineering principles, web security best practices and resilient application design. \nNice to have\nExperience designing and building micro frontend architectures, including module federation and independently deployable services. \nExperience with cloud-native environments such as GCP or Azure. \nFamiliarity with OAuth2, OpenID Connect, SAML or similar authentication and authorisation approaches. \nExperience with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform or related tooling. \nA proactive approach to continuous improvement, knowledge sharing and raising engineering standards. \nExperience using, or enthusiasm for learning about, GenAI tools to improve engineering effectiveness, collaboration and delivery outcomes. \nKnowledge of testing frameworks and methodologies including Jest, Playwright, and Vitest. \nBehavioural Competencies\nAnalytical Thinking: Able to break down complex problems and define scalable, reusable solutions. \nAdaptability: Embraces change and works effectively in evolving environments and technology stacks. \nInitiative & Innovation: Proactively improves tooling, and practices to unlock team efficiency. \nStrategic Awareness: Aligns frontend and BFF architecture with broader business and platform strategies. \nDecision-Making: Balances trade-offs and makes well-informed technical decisions in a timely manner. \nCollaboration: Works effectively across cross-functional teams and contributes to shared goals. \nCommunication: Articulates ideas clearly and appropriately for both technical and non-technical audiences. \nMentoring & Leadership: Builds capability within teams and supports career development of peers. \nCustomer Centricity: Keeps usability, responsiveness, and performance at the core of frontend delivery. \nAccountability: Takes responsibility for engineering quality, security, and long-term platform maintainability. \nResilience & Knowledge Sharing: Actively shares knowledge, documents solutions, and avoids single points of failure. \n Admiral: Where You Can\nWe take pride in being a diverse and inclusive business.
