• Full-time, Continuing position
• Salary Academic Level B ($119,915 - $142,402 p.a.) + 17% Superannuation and Flexible Working Arrangements
• Primarily based at Melbourne City campus, and the potential to work across other RMIT campuses as required.

About the Role

Join RMIT’s School of Engineering as a Lecturer in Signal Processing and help shape the next generation of biomedical engineers. This continuing Level B role offers the opportunity to combine high-quality teaching with research in biomedical signal processing, machine learning and related areas, while contributing to an inclusive, industry-connected academic environment. You will teach across undergraduate, Masters and Graduate Diploma programs, develop contemporary curriculum, support student learning, and build partnerships with academic, industry and professional communities. You will work collaboratively with colleagues in Biomedical Engineering and may also contribute to course coordination, research supervision and initiatives that strengthen RMIT’s impact in health, technology and engineering.

To be successful in this position, you’ll have:

• Demonstrated track record in biomedical signal processing and machine learning
• Demonstrated ability to design, prepare and deliver programs at undergraduate and post-graduate levels (including online and blended delivery), and the ability to produce high-quality curriculum or program materials using inclusive learning and teaching approaches
• Ability to undertake course coordination role and embedding technology-enhanced course design and delivery.
• Demonstrated capacity to work effectively with and to negotiate sensitively with students especially on issues related to effective learning.
• Emerging track record and recognition for quality research outputs which will contribute to existing Discipline and School research areas evidenced by publications, development of new research initiatives, competitive research funding, and industry links.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise higher degree by research candidates.
• Ability to build effective networks with colleagues and generate alternative funding projects through effective liaison with industry and government, particularly in biomedical engineering sector.
• Excellent interpersonal and communications skills appropriate for interacting with higher degree by research candidates, staff and industry, together with a strong commitment to teamwork and multidisciplinary collaboration and inclusive practices.

Qualifications:

Mandatory: PhD or equivalent in relevant field.
