Senior Python Engineer

Job Description :

Key Responsibilities :

- Develop and maintain Python applications for financial data processing, modelling, and reporting.

- Design scalable microservices and APIs for integration with trading platforms, market data providers, and internal systems.

- Collaborate with finance and risk teams to automate workflows and enhance data accuracy and timeliness.

- Optimize performance of real-time and batch data pipelines handling large datasets.

- Ensure systems meet regulatory and compliance requirements (e.g., MiFID II, Basel III, SOX).

- Lead code reviews, mentor junior developers, and promote best practices in secure and maintainable coding.

- Work with DevOps to deploy solutions in cloud or hybrid environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).

Required Qualifications :

Must-have :

- 5+ years of Python development experience in enterprise or financial environments.

- Strong understanding of financial instruments (equities, derivatives, fixed income) and market data.

- Experience with financial libraries (e.g., NumPy, Pydantic, PyTorch, Pandas, PySpark, QuantLib).

- Familiarity with trading systems, risk engines, or portfolio management platforms.

- Proficiency in cloud technologies, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines.

- Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Nice-to-have :

- Experience in the UK financial sector or financial sector in general.

- Knowing their strict compliance, risk, and security rules gives you a major edge.
