Five days onsite may be required based on business needs.\nInterview Process: Candidates should be prepared to attend an in-person interview at our Irving, TX office as part of the interview process.\nAbout the Role\nIn this role, you'll help build and maintain core architecture and customer-facing features for an Android security application used by hundreds of thousands of users daily.\nYou'll partner with product managers, UX designers, backend engineers, and other teams to turn product concepts into high-performing Android experiences. This role is ideal for someone who has shipped production Android applications and wants to work on meaningful software within the smart home and security space.\nWhat You'll Do\nDesign, build, and maintain responsive, robust Android features using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.\nContribute to architecture and customer-facing features across the Android application.\nApply modern Android architecture patterns and platform capabilities to improve quality and performance.\nUse AI-assisted development tools to plan, implement, and deliver production-ready software.\nImplement and maintain observability using Dynatrace and related monitoring technologies.\nPartner with development and operations teams to improve system reliability and visibility.\nCollaborate across backend engineering, security, operations, networking, data, and product teams.\nHelp standardize mobile frameworks, CI/CD practices, observability, and engineering documentation.\nParticipate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical planning activities.\nWhat You'll Need\nHands-on Android development experience with Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.\n3+ years of Android development experience in a production environment.\n5+ years of overall software engineering experience preferred.\nExperience shipping Android applications or features to production.\nExperience with Kotlin Coroutines, dependency injection, caching, WebSockets, REST or GraphQL APIs, JSON parsing, and security concepts.\nExperience working with Bluetooth, geofencing, camera functionality, Wi-Fi, and other Android platform capabilities.\nExperience with Git, Jira, Confluence, pull request reviews, and CI/CD tools such as Harness, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, CircleCI, or Jenkins.\nExperience with Dynatrace, Datadog, or similar observability platforms.\nStrong problem-solving, debugging, communication, and collaboration skills.\nInterest in leveraging AI-enabled development tools while maintaining strong engineering fundamentals.\nNice to Have\nExperience with Matter, Z-Wave Long Range, or local AI inference.\nKnowledge of OWASP, CASA, and mobile security best practices.\nExperience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).\nBackground in smart home, security, IoT, consumer electronics, or connected-device
