This is an entry-level role - a great start for recent graduates, as well as for testers who would like to apply their experience to network hardware and systems. You will learn how carrier-grade routers and switches are verified before they go live in operators' networks.\nWith support from experienced engineers, you will build test setups in our lab, run tests, analyze results and report issues to development teams. Step by step, you will take ownership of your own test areas and grow into test automation.\nAbout the team\nSVT ETH is part of ADTRAN's System Verification organization. Our team of 8 engineers in Gdynia works closely with R&D, System Integration Test and Technical Support colleagues across Europe and the US. In our lab you get hands-on access to carrier-grade equipment from ADTRAN and other vendors, together with professional traffic generators and analyzers. New team members get an experienced colleague as a mentor and time to learn.\nTechnologies you'll learn and work with\nCarrier Ethernet, Metro Ethernet, Access & Aggregation networks\nLayer 2 switching and Layer 3 routing: IPv4/IPv6, OSPF, IS-IS, BGP, BFD\nService-provider technologies: MPLS, IPVPN/L3VPN, EVPN, PTP/SyncE\nPython and Robot Framework for test automation\nIxia/Keysight, Spirent and Viavi traffic generators and analyzers\nLinux and Windows lab environments\nWhat you will do\nLearn our products, test processes and lab environment.\nBuild and configure test setups with ADTRAN and third-party routers, switches and traffic generators.\nExecute functional, regression and end-to-end tests based on existing test plans.\nAnalyze test results and logs and report defects clearly in our bug tracking system.\nWork with developers to reproduce defects and verify fixes.\nDocument test procedures, configurations and results in our test management system.\nGradually develop your own test cases and automated tests in Python and Robot Framework.\nWhat we're looking for\nDegree (or final year of studies) in Telecommunications, Electronics, Computer Science, Automation or a related technical field - or equivalent practical experience.\nBasic understanding of computer networks: OSI model, Ethernet, IP addressing, TCP/UDP - from studies, courses or your own lab.\nBasic Linux and command-line skills, or the willingness to pick them up quickly.\nAnalytical mindset and curiosity about how things work - and why they fail.\nGood written and spoken English (at least B2).\nWillingness to learn, attention to detail and a team-player attitude.\nNice to have\nHands-on networking practice from studies, internships, a home lab or courses (e.g. Cisco Networking Academy, CCNA).\nBasic programming or scripting skills (Python, Bash or similar).\nExperience in software testing/QA in any domain -
