The successful candidate will have proven competency in high-speed electronic design, signal integrity management, and product development throughout the complete product lifecycle.\nThis role will work closely with hardware, FPGA, firmware, test, and mechanical engineering teams to deliver innovative optical networking products from concept through production. Experience with simulation tools such as Ansys HFSS, Keysight ADS, and other signal integrity analysis tools is highly desirable.\nDuties and Responsibilities\nDevelop block diagrams and schematics from the initial concept phase.\nSpecify, design, test, integrate, and release new optical transceiver products to production.\nCreate Hardware Unit Design Specifications and test plans.\nDesign solutions utilizing bare-die components and advanced microelectronic assembly techniques, including wire bonding and flip-chip technologies.\nWork closely with PCB layout engineers on complex, high-layer-count board designs.\nProvide guidance to CAD designers throughout PCB development activities.\nCollaborate with FPGA, firmware, and test engineering teams during product integration and validation.\nPerform signal integrity analysis and high-speed simulations using industry-standard tools.\nSupport products through manufacturing transfer and production release activities.\nProvide engineering support for products in production and work directly with contract manufacturing partners.\nWork cross-functionally across R&D disciplines to meet product performance, quality, cost, and schedule objectives.\nComplete the full product design lifecycle on portions of the system involving multiple components.\nWork independently on assigned design activities with minimal supervision.\nUnderstand product architecture, design processes, tools, and development methodologies required to perform assigned responsibilities.\nBasic Qualifications\nBS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.\n5+ years of relevant experience in high-speed board design.\nStrong fundamentals in electromagnetic and RF design, including impedance matching and S-parameter analysis.\nExperience with high-speed RF measurements and characterization techniques.\nExperience with fiber optic testing and measurements.\nExperience using laboratory equipment including:Spectrum Analyzers\nNetwork Analyzers\nLogic Analyzers\nFunction Generators\nBER Test Sets\n\nProficiency with schematic capture tools such as Mentor Graphics DxDesigner, Xpedition, or equivalent.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office applications.\nPreferred Qualifications\nMaster's degree in Electrical Engineering.\nExperience using Ansys HFSS, Keysight ADS, HyperLynx, or similar EM/SI simulation tools.\nExperience designing optical transceivers or coherent pluggable optical modules.\nKnowledge of optical component reliability requirements and telecommunications standards, including Telcordia, IEC, and ITU.\nExperience with coherent optical systems.\nProgramming experience using Python, MATLAB, or LabVIEW for automation and test development.\nKnowledge of signal integrity and power integrity analysis techniques.\nTravel Requirements\nApproximately 10% travel.5% domestic travel\n5% international
