In this role you combine hands-on lab work with smart automation: you apply AI tools and scripts to remove repetitive work, and you take ownership of difficult problems until they are fully understood. Experience with optical technologies is welcome; a strong engineering mindset and the ability to learn quickly matter most.\nWhat you will do\nBuild, wire and maintain test setups in the lab: network elements, pluggable optics, fibers, traffic generators and measurement equipment\nPlan and run system and end-to-end test scenarios from the customer's perspective\nAutomate tests, configuration and repetitive lab work (Python, Robot Framework, Jenkins)\nUse AI tools to speed up the work: writing and reviewing test cases, generating scripts, analyzing logs and results, documentation\nInvestigate issues in depth: reproduce, isolate and analyze defects, and work them through with development until they are fixed\nWrite test cases, results and defect reports in our test management system\nPropose and drive improvements to our test process, tools and lab\nLearn new technologies, test methods and measurement equipment as the product evolves\nWhat we expect\nRequired\nDegree in Telecommunications, Electronics, Computer Science, Physics or a similar technical field\nSome experience in testing, validation, integration or a similar hands-on engineering role (industry, internship or substantial university projects)\nScripting or programming skills in any language\nPractical, hands-on attitude: you like working with real hardware and are not afraid to build a setup yourself\nFast learner who can work independently and also dig deep into a complex problem\nVery good written and spoken English\nGood communication and teamwork; well organized\nNice to have\nKnowledge of fiber-optic technology: DWDM, ROADMs, optical amplifiers, fiber transmission basics (attenuation, dispersion, OSNR)\nKnowledge of networking and transport protocols: Ethernet, IP, OTN; management protocols such as NETCONF/YANG or SNMP\nExperience using AI tools (LLM assistants, coding agents) in engineering work\nExperience with our automation stack: Python, Robot Framework and Jenkins; GitLinux command line; configuration of telecom or network devices\nExperience with measurement equipment: traffic testers, optical power meters, OSA\nWhat we offer\nHands-on work with the
