We currently have an opening for a fully funded 4-year PhD position in Brillouin microscopy.\n\nThe project offers the opportunity to explore fundamental aspects of Brillouin scattering and photon–phonon interactions while developing exciting new experimental approaches for applications in life sciences and spectroscopy. We seek a highly motivated and curious PhD candidate with a strong background in physics and an internal drive to explore new ideas and build experiments.\n\nThe successful candidate will work at the intersection of fundamental photonics, nonlinear optics and advanced optical instrumentation, combining fundamental questions with hands-on experimental research and real-world applications.\n\nYour profile\n\n MSc Degree in Physics\n\n preferably with a background in experimenta/theoretical physics, soft or biological physics\n\n experience with programming is a plus\n\nWhat do we offer?\n\nWe offer guidance and help so you can develop the skills and experience to become an independent scientist. And that is valuable. So in return for your efforts, we offer you:\n\n a salary of minimum € 3.204,00 (PhD) and maximum € 4.051,00 (PhD) gross per month, on a full-time basis. This is based on UFO profile PhD candidate. The exact salary depends on your education and experience.\n\n a position for at least 0.9 FTE.\n\n your employment contract will initially last 1 year. Afterwards, the possibility of expansion exists.\n\nWe also offer you attractive fringe benefits and regulations. Some examples:\n\n a full-time 38-hour working week comes with a holiday leave entitlement of 232 hours per year. If you choose to work 40 hours, you have 96 extra holiday leave hours on an annual basis.
