The Manager AP & EHS is responsible for a team of 6-7 direct reports, risk mitigation, planning for and providing real-time support and communication should there be a security breach or any other critical safety event. The EHS/AP Manager is accountable for reducing TM injury rates, security, shrink/damage control and helping improve the inventory accuracy of the DC. This position requires the ability to influence, teach, coach and train others. In addition, the EHS/AP Manager is responsible for ensuring operational and procedural compliance, auditing, hazmat compliance, conducting investigations, managing and proposing solutions to mitigate injuries/losses as well as presenting key findings to leadership. Core duties and responsibilities of the position are outlined below; however, duties may change at any time to support the needs of the business.\nMaintain and develop partnerships with DC leadership, CSC and cross functional teams \nMaintain, develop, and train 6-7 direct reports\nDevelop site specific loss control strategies to prevent and reduce hazards and losses for the DC. \nInvestigate the cause of incidents, including injuries, shrink/inventory concerns, security threats, powered industrial truck incident, and near misses, and partner with DC leadership to develop corrective measures and controls\nAssist with property protection controls, including fire protection standards & controls, disaster and business continuity plans and training along with coordinating external fire & HPR (highly protected risks) inspections. \nProficiency in DC’s WMS and understand all aspects of DC operations \nActively support, coordinate and promote the company’s safety, ethics and integrity programs \nPrepare and present training courses and educate team on safety, shrink, defectives and inventory control along with how to prepare and respond to critical incidents - Hazmat, Weather, Active Shooter, Civil Unrest, etc.… \nConduct operational audits as required \nHelp maintain current required OSHA programs and provide management with this information for dissemination. \nKeep managers and associates alerted as to the hazards of working with toxic fumes, dangerous chemicals, and any other hazardous substances. \nImplement, manage, and measure various internal environmental programs and compliance with governmental regulations \nPresent to DC Leadership the outcomes of audits and loss trends along with recommendations for improvement \nConduct Physical Security walks to ensure our DC security controls & procedures are being adhered to \nCreate and build relationships with local law enforcement and health care centers. \nAssist with and be the SME related to book to physical (inventory tie out) activities in the DC \nOwnership of all internal investigations & interviews related to safety incidents and theft/fraud. \nReview and monitor CCTV and Access Control Systems \nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:\nThis position is an onsite (DC) position reporting to the Regional Sr. EHS/AP Manager.\nThis position requires quick thinking, strong problem solving in potentially high stress situations \nKnowledge of federal, state, province, and OSHA regulations and procedures on a multi-state basis \nKnowledge of loss control strategies related to worker’s compensation regulations, general liability, auto, property, crime and 3rd party administrators and their operations is essential \nStrong leadership skills - strategic, proactive and growth minded \nCapable of independently working and collaborating on location, with direct supervisor being off-site \nStrong partnership, interpersonal and collaboration skills \nStrong business and financial acumen \nProficient knowledge of internal investigation processes and methodologies in a retail/DC environment \nExcellent communication skills required, in order to appropriately communicate with individuals of differing knowledge levels (e.g., DC associates, management, doctors, attorneys, etc.) \nMust be self-motivated with highly-effective time management and organization skills \nStrong Microsoft Office Skills \nRecommended Experience\n5-8+ years of asset protection experience\nCollege degree in Criminal Justice, Safety or Occupational\nHealth, or other related programs, or a combination of education + work experience\nPrior retail or distribution center is preferred\n2 years of managerial experience preferred\nCertificates, Licenses & Registrations\nAssociate Safety Professional (or higher) certification highly preferred (or obtain within a year) \nWicklander-Zulawski certified (or obtain within 3 months of hire) \nUnderstanding of Six Sigma process with a Black or Green Belt certification are a plus. \nCFI/CFE/LPQ/LPC is preferred \nPhysical Demands\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
