This role is responsible for independently executing complex instrumentation and control engineering assignments, supporting multidisciplinary EPC project teams, and providing technical leadership throughout project execution from conceptual design through commissioning.\nThe ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in industrial automation, process control systems, PLC/DCS platforms, and field instrumentation while serving as a technical resource for junior engineers and designers.\nWhat You'll Do\nInstrumentation & Control System Design\nLead the design and development of instrumentation and control systems for EPC projects.\nDevelop, review, and maintain:Instrument indexes and I/O lists \nInstrument specifications and data sheets \nControl system architecture diagrams \nLoop diagrams and wiring diagrams \nControl narratives and cause-and-effect matrices \nP&ID reviews and instrumentation markupsSpecify and evaluate field instrumentation including: \nPressure, temperature, flow, and level instruments \nAnalytical instrumentation \nControl valves and actuators \nProcess monitoring and safety devicesEnsure designs comply with project requirements, client specifications, and industry standards. \n\nAutomation & Control Systems Engineering\nDesign and support PLC, DCS, SCADA, and HMI systems for industrial and power generation facilities.\nDevelop I/O assignments, control system architectures, and communication network layouts.\nReview and support development of control logic, functional descriptions, and system operating philosophies.\nCoordinate integration of instrumentation systems with electrical and process control systems.\nSupport cybersecurity considerations and control system reliability requirements where applicable.\nEngineering Analysis & Technical Reviews\nPerform technical evaluations and engineering reviews of instrumentation and control system designs.\nReview vendor documentation, control system packages, and instrumentation submittals.\nEvaluate system performance, reliability, maintainability, and operational requirements.\nSupport development of technical specifications for procurement and construction activities.\nAssist in troubleshooting and resolving complex instrumentation and control issues.\nProject Execution\nExecute instrumentation engineering activities throughout conceptual design, detailed engineering, procurement, construction, startup, and commissioning phases.\nDevelop material take-offs (MTOs), instrument schedules, and equipment lists.\nSupport project estimating and engineering scope development.\nMonitor assigned deliverables and ensure compliance with project schedules and budgets.\nSupport development of construction work packages and commissioning plans.\nMultidisciplinary Coordination\nCoordinate instrumentation and controls designs with electrical, mechanical, civil, structural, process, and construction teams.\nParticipate in interdisciplinary design reviews and HAZOP or constructability reviews as required.\nResolve design interface issues between instrumentation systems and facility equipment.\nEnsure seamless integration of automation systems into overall facility operations.\nConstruction & Commissioning Support\nProvide engineering support during construction, startup, and commissioning activities.\nParticipate in factory acceptance testing (FAT), site acceptance testing (SAT), and system validation activities.\nSupport loop checks, instrument calibration, functional testing, and system troubleshooting.\nRespond to Requests for Information (RFIs) and field engineering issues.\nAssist with system startup, turnover, and operational readiness activities.\nQuality & Standards\nEnsure compliance with company engineering procedures, client specifications, and applicable codes and standards.\nPerform quality reviews of instrumentation deliverables and engineering documentation.\nSupport continuous improvement initiatives and development of engineering best practices.\nMaintain accurate documentation and revision control throughout project execution.\nMentorship & Technical Development\nProvide technical guidance and support to Instrumentation Engineer I and II personnel.\nAssist in developing instrumentation design standards and engineering procedures.\nSupport training and knowledge-sharing initiatives within the engineering organization.\nPromote engineering excellence, safety, and quality throughout project execution.\nWhat You'll Bring\nEducation & Experience\nBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or related engineering discipline.\nMinimum 5-8 years of instrumentation and controls engineering experience.\nExperience supporting EPC projects within power generation, industrial, utility, renewable energy, or infrastructure sectors.\nEngineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred.\nProgress toward Professional Engineer (PE) licensure preferred.\nTechnical Skills\nStrong knowledge of:Industrial instrumentation and process control systems \nPLC, DCS, SCADA, and HMI platforms \nIndustrial communication protocols \nProcess automation and control strategies\nInstrument installation and
