This role provides strategic technical leadership, establishes engineering standards, and serves as a subject matter expert for process systems throughout all phases of project development and execution.\nThe Principal Process Engineer is responsible for leading critical technical decisions, developing innovative engineering solutions, mentoring engineering staff, and ensuring the successful delivery of large-scale projects. This position works closely with executive leadership, clients, OEMs, regulatory agencies, and multidisciplinary engineering teams to support business growth and engineering excellence.\nWhat You'll Do\nTechnical Leadership\nServe as the highest-level process engineering technical authority for power generation and industrial EPC projects.\nEstablish and maintain process engineering standards, procedures, best practices, and design methodologies.\nProvide technical oversight and guidance for multiple concurrent projects across the organization.\nLead resolution of complex technical issues and engineering challenges.\nReview and approve critical process engineering deliverables and design decisions.\nSupport strategic planning and technology selection for new projects and business initiatives.\nEvaluate emerging technologies and industry trends for application within Quanta Power Solutions projects.\nProject Execution\nLead process engineering activities across all project phases, including:\nFeasibility studies \nConceptual design \nFront-End Engineering Design (FEED) \nDetailed engineering \nProcurement support \nConstruction support \nCommissioning and startupServe as the lead process engineering representative for major EPC projects and client engagements.• Oversee process discipline scope, schedules, budgets, and resource planning.• Support project execution strategies and risk management initiatives.• Provide executive-level technical support during project reviews and client presentations.• Collaborate with project management and engineering leadership to ensure successful project delivery. \nProcess System Design\nLead the development and optimization of complex process systems for:\nSimple cycle power plants\nCombined cycle power plants \nReciprocating engine facilities \nRenewable energy projects \nBattery energy storage systems (BESS) \nIndustrial process facilitiesPerform and review plant-wide heat and mass balances.• Direct the design and optimization of: \nDemineralized water treatment systems (RO, CEDI, mixed bed) \nClosed cooling water systems \nService water systems \nInstrument and plant air systems \nChemical dosing systems \nWastewater treatment and handling systems \nFuel gas conditioning and gas treatment systemsLead advanced hydraulic analyses and process simulations.• Review and approve equipment specifications and system designs for pumps, compressors, vessels, tanks, heat exchangers, and packaged equipment.• Provide expertise in material selection, corrosion control, and chemical compatibility evaluations. \nDrawings & Engineering Deliverables\n Oversee development and approval of:\nProcess Flow Diagrams (PFDs) \nPiping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) \nProcess calculations \nDesign basis documents \nEquipment lists \nLine lists \nTechnical specifications• Lead HAZOP studies, design reviews, constructability reviews, and operability assessments.• Ensure consistency and integration across process, piping, instrumentation, mechanical, electrical, and structural disciplines.• Establish quality assurance standards for process engineering deliverables. \nEnvironmental & Regulatory Support\n Provide technical leadership for environmental permitting and regulatory compliance activities.• Support emissions evaluations for gas turbines, duct burners, auxiliary boilers, and emergency generation systems.• Interface with environmental consultants, permitting agencies, and regulatory stakeholders.• Support compliance efforts related to air quality, wastewater discharge, chemical storage, and environmental regulations.\nBusiness Development & Client Relations\n Support proposal development, project pursuits, and client presentations.• Participate in business development efforts and technical sales initiatives.• Build and maintain strong client relationships through technical leadership and project support.• Represent Quanta Power Solutions at industry conferences, technical committees, and professional organizations.• Support development of strategic partnerships with OEMs, vendors, and industry stakeholders.\nLeadership & Mentorship\n Mentor Process Engineers at all levels across the organization.• Provide technical training and professional development opportunities for engineering staff.• Support recruitment, workforce planning, and engineering team development initiatives.• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and technical excellence.• Serve as a trusted advisor to engineering leadership and executive management.\nWhat You'll Bring\nEducation, Certifications & Experience\n Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or related discipline from an accredited university.• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.• Minimum 15+ years of progressive process engineering experience in power generation, industrial, chemical, oil & gas, or EPC environments.• Demonstrated experience serving as a technical lead or subject matter expert on large-scale EPC projects.• Extensive experience supporting combined cycle power generation facilities
