Align the latest commodity road map into our product and technologies development strategies to keep our competitive edges in the market. Focus on identifying and selecting alternate component technologies or supplies, reducing cost, and improving quality and reliability.\nESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:\nLead the function as global component engineering acroess different design and production sites/production locations and development of engineers, determining new and alternate sources of qualified electrical and mechanical components.\nSupport the technologies and component engineering alignement among different internal design teams.\nLead the team to support the product development in achieveing the cost reduction initatiive.\nDevelops, implements, and maintains policies, procedures, and material control systems to reduce costs, streamline procedures, and implement solutions.\nEstablish and implement consistent processes across operations to ensure components are compliant to necessary environmental and safety standards, e.g. RoHS, REACH, UL, CE, CSA, Conflict Minerals, etc.\nIn depth BOM reviews according to development stages in covering Single and Sole source, Component Life Cycle, Preferred Part and Manufacturer usage.\nInvolves Design, Component Engineering, Commodity Management, Factory, Quality and Document Management.\nCreate and lead the Material Lifecycle Program Management (MLPM) function by establishing and driving end-to-end lifecycle governance for materials and components, including End-of-Life (EOL), obsolescence management, and related lifecycle initiatives; partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Supply Chain, and Business teams to execute lifecycle strategies, mitigate supply risks, ensure product continuity, and implement governance frameworks, processes, and roadmap deliverables aligned with organizational objectives.\nSelects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.\nEstablish and oversee process to evaluate supplier change notification and qualify changes, as needed.\nEnsure operation and data intergraty of component data management system including qualification.\nDevelops guidelines/procedures for opreation standardization.\nWORK ENVIRONMENT:\nDesign Centre, need frequent travel to design teams and factories.\nThe role is open for hiring across Hong Kong, Singapore, the Philippines, and Malaysia.\nSKILLS:\nUnderstand the environment and requirements for both New Product Introduction (NPI) and volume manufacturing.\nExcellent oral and written communication skills. \nExcellent project management skills. \nExcellent organizational, data collection and presentation skills. \nAbility to work in a fast-paced, global, matrixed environment. \nResults & execution driven: consistently delivers on commitments & stretch goals. \nSelf-motivated, detail-oriented and passion for continuous improvements.\nEXPERIENCE:\n10 years’ experience in engineering preferred.\n5+ years supervisory experience managing an engineering team or relevant technical or materials team.\nExperience in a multinational environment, preferably having supported multiple business operations.\nExperience within a manufacturing environment would be highly desirable.\nKnowledge in power electronics or materials science is a plus.\nEDUCATION:\nDegree or above in engineering or equivalent;
