We are proud of our rich heritage, award-winning technologies, and we value the talents and contributions of all Advanced Energy's employees worldwide.\nPosition Summary:\nJoin our Medical Design Team as Lead Electronic Engineer and provide technical and people leadership for a multidisciplinary team of electrical, firmware, and mechanical engineers, as well as engineering technicians. This role is responsible for driving execution of new product development, sustaining engineering, customer programs, and regulatory compliance activities while ensuring the team delivers high-quality solutions on schedule and within budget.\nResponsilbilities:\nProject Development\nMonitor progress of the project to ensure that the customer expectations, schedule, cost targets, etc. can and are being met. Assist in keeping project on track or getting back on track as needed. Escalate risks, issues, and dependencies to management\nTypes and levels of support will vary from project to project. Understand and adapt to various customer expectations, project scope, and individual teams and team members experience level, along with their differing strengths and weaknesses.\nServe as a technical resource to facilitate design trade-off decisions.\nEnsure engineering activities comply with design control requirements, risk management processes, verification and validation plans, and applicable regulatory requirements.\nSupport compliance with ISO 13485, FDA quality system requirements, and medical product development processes.\nAssist in developing project schedules, milestones, and task tracking plans\nCoordinate cross-functional teams including mechanical, electrical, firmware, PCB, manufacturing, and quality. Interfacing with external and internal (upper management, production, marketing, sales, field applications engineering, and quality groups) customers regarding projects requirements, tasks, project schedules, and translations of specifications\nFacilitate project meetings, design reviews, and status updates\nMaintain project documentation including schedules, action logs, and change records\nSupport change control processes, including scope, schedule, and resource changes\nAssist in managing prototype builds, validation phases, and pilot runs\nCommunicate project status clearly to stakeholders and leadership\nSupport continuous improvement of project management processes and tools\nPeople Leadership\nLead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary engineering team including electrical, firmware, mechanical engineers, and technicians.\nProvide technical leadership and guidance on architecture decisions, design trade-offs, risk assessments, verification strategies, and product development best practices.\nEstablish employee goals, provide coaching and performance feedback, and support career development activities.\nSupport hiring, onboarding, training, and workforce planning initiatives.\nSales Support / Customer Service\nRFI & RFQ\nWork with customers to identify possible solutions / trade-offs regarding new ideas, possible development, problems that they are having.\nProvide BOM to BM to use for the quote.\nProvide Technical proposals and feedback to the customer.\nPreferred components\nWork with component engineering / purchasing to make sure we are using the best parts and suppliers for our applications.\nWork with suppliers, make sure that we are aware of and thinking about how we can take advantage of the new technologies they are coming out with.\nHelp influence /prioritize their development trade-offs / schedules of the new parts that will want to take advantage of.\nCross team communication\nCommunicate and plan design initiatives with marketing, executive teams\nAttend design reviews, monitor progress of other designs.\nPromote commonality of design between projects.\nCommunicate possible lessons learned back and forth to the design teams.\nQualifications:\nBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.\n7+ years of engineering product development experience.\nExperience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams.\nExperience with project planning and execution.\nExperience supporting product development from concept through production release.\nPreferred\nPrior supervisory or people-management experience.\nExperience in medical device or regulated product development.\nExperience with ISO 13485, FDA Quality Systems, IEC 60601, and design controls.\nPMP or equivalent project management certification.\nAs part of our total rewards philosophy, we believe in offering and maintaining competitive compensation and benefits programs for our employees in order to attract and retain a talented, highly engaged workforce.
