MANUFACTURING ENGINEER\nThe Lead Manufacturing Engineer primary responsibilities include:\nEnsuring that Advanced Energy operates a safe work environment and specifies safe manufacturing practices.\nResponsible for planning, organizing and leading activities of Manufacturing Engineers functions.\nDefine, design, develop and Implement SPC tools for assembly tools, manufacturing and key processes\nPrimary emphasis is continuous quality improvement on current products through process and product optimization via a robust process control management\nActively collaborate in concurrent engineering activities with design engineers to ensure that all new products are introduced with process control plans that achieve the quality goals as stated in the product introduction plan at the time of release.\nInteract with Quality and Operations to ensure an appropriate transfer of new products, PPAP, and continuous improvement programs and initiatives\nESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:\nSafety:\nWorking with managers to implement the company's policies and goals;\nEnsuring that health and safety guidelines are followed;\nEnsure implementation and evolution of safety procedures.\nDevelop, implement, deploy and maintain safety KPIs and practices for all NPI and manufacturing processes (ie. fixtures, equipment, SMT, wave solder(s), others)\nQuality:\nManage the adherence to prescribed procedures to ensure quality meets or exceeds planned goals.\nWork in coordination with the quality organization in establishing quality engineering processes\nDevelop, define and Maintain manufacturing process controls (SPCs) for key processes\nAnalyze workflow and layout and implement changes/related work methods.\nEnsure BOM and process standards are accurate and being followed\nParticipate in the development phases and gates for NPI process\nParticipate in development and implementation of Lean Manufacturing concepts\nInteract constantly to develop root cause specific 8D reports and ground corrective actions in processes.\nParticipate and lead root cause analysis and develop/establish improvement action plans\nInteract constantly with Quality Engineering, Operations, Materials, Support Areas to ensure robust processes using PPAP, SPC and LEAN tools.\nDevelop and establish best practice manufacturing engineering processes\nDelivery:\nLead the process engineering team in assisting production to meet production schedules as required by plant production schedule to support customer request delivery dates\nComply with on time and prompt delivery of requests to the department made by internal and external customers.\nCost:\nParticipate with the manufacturing departments on the common effort of ensure planned KPI’s of efficiency and performance are met or exceeded.\nDevelop, establish and deploy initiatives and programs to drive plant productivity improvements of earned hours vs. paid hours\nDevelop, implement and maintain manufacturing cost reduction programs\nResponsible for scrap and rework reduction programs and initiatives\nWORKING CONDITIONS\nLocation: Advanced Energy Manufacturing Plant in Mexicali.\nEnvironment: [office setting, Work, Visual Management, OEE, SMED, A3 Problem Solving, etc.)\n85% Bilingual (English / Spanish)\nStrong Negotiation and Communication skills\nStrong Leader and fearless change agent\nStrong Team work skills\nDevelop, implement and monitor PPAP System.\nManages and direct work of process engineers\nHelps develop and maintain and effective staff development program.\nAnalyze related equipment and related tooling\nEXPERIENCE:\nEssential:\nExperience in Electronic Industry and/or Production Part Approval Process (PPAP).\nSix Sigma Certification is a plus\nElectronic Manufacturing and Components Fabrication.\nAutomation of complete assemblies (beyond just PCBA, SMTA)\nMetal fabrication involving moderate precision with aluminum, copper, steel.\nCoating and encapsulation / potting automation.\nDFM with focus in automation.\nProduct experience with digitally controlled devices.\nDesirable:\nEDUCATION:\nEssential:\nBachelor Degree (Manufacturing, Electronic/Electromechanical Engineering) and 10+ years’ experience in an electronics manufacturing environment is required.\nDesirable:\n6-sigma or equivalent statistical, problem-solving
