Provides training and monitors planning activities and metrics.\nRESPONSIBILITIES:\nDevelops and implements the company's production control functions including any of the following activities: production planning/coordination, shop scheduling and dispatching, material requirements, planning systems, work-in-process tracking, material and labor variance controls, and manufacturing performance reporting\nSelects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function\nResponsible for planning, reviewing, and developing production procedures and personnel\nMay coordinate activities with materials function using enterprise resource planning systems\nMaintains reports to reflect scheduling, methods, on time delivery and FGI inventory metrics, support performance and process procedures\nWORK ENVIRONMENT:\nPrimarily works in an office environment which is normally fast paced\nQUALIFICATIONS:\nAbility to present ideas in a clear and persuasive manner, both orally and in writing\nCapability to respond quickly, decisively, assertively, and professionally to changing requirements in demand, product description, and material demand\nAbility to manage and lead a staff of professional Production Planners\nAbility to organize, schedule, coordinate, and negotiate effectively and to set priorities in a manner which ensures maximum performance and goal accomplishment\nGood understanding of SAP and the ability to apply to manufacturing processes\nStrong theoretical and practical knowledge of demand-based manufacturing systems\nExcellent PC skills, including Excel, Word, MS Standard Office\nStrong organizational skills\nAbility to work with several projects simultaneously\nAbility to motivate others in a team environment\nEXPERIENCE:\nExperience in a high mix/low volume, pull-based manufacturing environment\nPrevious experience in production planning required\nPrevious experience managing people desired\nEDUCATION:\nBS in Business Administration, Production Operations Management, or closely related field or a combination of relevant experience and/or education, that is equivalent to a four year degree\nAPICS CPIM Certification strongly
