This role oversees the Drafting and Pre-Production Services (PPS) teams, ensuring the timely delivery of engineering documentation, product structures, manufacturing readiness activities, and product data management required to support successful product development, product transfers, and production ramp-ups.\nThe incumbent works closely with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Program Management, Supply Chain, Quality, Manufacturing, and Global Design Centers, to ensure new products are effectively released, accurately documented, and seamlessly transitioned into manufacturing while meeting company quality, regulatory, and compliance requirements.\nIn addition, the role drives process standardization, operational excellence, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance engineering support capabilities, accelerate product introduction timelines, and ensure manufacturing readiness for new and sustaining products.\nRESPONSIBILITIES :\nLeadership & People Management\nLead, mentor, and develop a team of engineering professionals supporting Drafting and Pre-Production Services activities.\nEstablish team objectives, performance metrics, and development plans aligned with organizational goals.\nManage resource planning, workload prioritization, and capacity requirements to support multiple NPI programs.\nFoster a culture of collaboration, accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.\n New Product Introduction (NPI)\nLead Engineering Services support for NPI programs from concept through production release.\nCollaborate with global design centers and cross-functional teams to ensure successful product transfer into manufacturing.\nIdentify project risks and implement mitigation plans to avoid schedule, quality, or cost impacts.\n Pre-Production Services (PPS)\nOversee PPS activities related to new PCBAs, Specification Control Drawing (SCD), BOM, SMT assembly process and manufacturing documentation.\nLead PPS package creation and release activities before RFQ and supplier engagement.\nDrive PPS process improvements, standardization, and automation initiatives.\n Drafting\nLead the Drafting team responsible for Operation Method Sheet (OMS), drawing, and 3D CAD data management.\nEnsure OMS and engineering drawings meet company, industry, and customer standards.\nReview drafting practices, templates, and standards for consistency across product lines.\nEstablish controls for OMS revision, drawing revision, documentation release, and configuration management.\nDrive continuous improvement initiatives to improve drafting process, efficiency, quality, and cycle time.\n Engineering Change Management\nServe as functional owner and subject matter expert for Engineering Change Order (ECO) processes.\nCoordinate cross-functional stakeholders to resolve ECO-related issues.\nSupport configuration management and product traceability requirements.\nProcess Improvement & Digital Transformation\nIdentify opportunities to streamline NPI, Drafting, and PPS workflows.\nSupport automation and digitalization projects involving PLM, ERP, CAD, and document control systems.\nImplement best practices and standardized work processes across the Engineering Services organization.\nQuality & Compliance\nEnsure compliance with company quality management systems and procedures.\nMaintain confidentiality of all information related to the production processes and components, business and other technology including materials.\nAdhere to organizational requirements on quality management, health and safety, code of conduct, legal stipulations, environmental, 5S policies and general duty of care.\nWORK ENVIRONMENT :\nLocation: Penang Science Park, Simpang Ampat Penang.\nWorks in a standard office environment and uses general office equipment.\nWorks under minimal supervision for a supervisor that may be in a different geographical location.\nFast-paced, dynamic manufacturing environment supporting new product introduction (NPI), product transfer, and sustaining engineering activities.\nMay require international travel (QUALIFICATIONS :\nStrong leadership and people management capabilities.\nExcellent project management and prioritization skills.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities.\nExperience leading cross-functional teams in a matrix organization.\nStrong understanding of engineering documentation and configuration management\nExperience establishing and managing departmental KPIs and performance metrics.\nDemonstrated ability to develop individuals and teams.\nAbility to communicate effectively with executive management and customers.\nSelf-motivated, proactive, exhibits an enthusiastic, confident and positive attitude. \nEXPERIENCE :\nEssential :\nMinimum 5 to 8 years of experience in NPI, Manufacturing Engineering, Product Engineering, Program Management, or related fields\nMinimum 3 years of leadership or people management experience.\nFamiliarity with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems, ERP systems (SAP preferred), and configuration management processes.\nWorking knowledge of SolidWorks, Adobe Illustrator, and Altium Designer for engineering documentation, drafting, and product development support.\nExperience with Operation Method Sheet (OMS) creation, maintenance, and release processes to support manufacturing operations and new product introductions.\nExperience in PCBA, electronics, semiconductor, industrial equipment, or high-technology manufacturing industries.\nExperience with PCB/PCBA design documentation, drawing release processes, and manufacturing documentation management.\nExperience in high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environments.\nExposure to global or multinational organizations supporting geographically dispersed teams and stakeholders.\nEDUCATION :\nEssential :\nBachelor’s Degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing
