This position coordinates and directs production employees to support safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing operations. They will help ensure production schedules and customer requirements are met while maintaining company safety, quality, attendance, housekeeping, and work-rule expectations.\nThe individual selected for this position may be required to train or work on first shift for a limited period as necessary to become familiar with Company processes, equipment, employees, and procedures.\nRequirements\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\nLead and guide second-shift employees in a team-oriented environment while promoting safety, quality, productivity, and compliance with Company policies and procedures.\nCoordinate and direct daily production activities based on operational requirements and established production schedules.\nReview production requirements and assign employees to work areas and tasks based on staffing, skills, and operational needs.\nMonitor production throughout the shift to ensure established production goals, quality standards, and customer requirements are being met.\nAssist with machine and equipment setup and provide guidance to employees when needed.\nMonitor production processes involving injection molding, thermoforming, fabrication, CNC, assembly, and other manufacturing operations.\nInspect or review products and processes for quality and conformance to specifications.\nWork closely with Quality Control personnel to identify and address quality concerns.\nReview production paperwork, reports, and documentation for accuracy and completeness.\nAnalyze production information and communicate significant issues, delays, quality concerns, staffing needs, or other operational matters to management.\nTrain employees on job duties, production procedures, safety requirements, and applicable work instructions.\nAssist with onboarding and training of new employees and assign experienced employees to assist with training when appropriate.\nObserve employee performance and provide coaching, direction, and feedback as appropriate.\nAddress attendance, performance, conduct, and work-rule concerns in accordance with Company policies and direction from management/HR.\nParticipate in employee performance evaluations and other performance-management activities as requested.\nCommunicate staffing needs and operational concerns to management.\nMaintain a professional and respectful work environment and lead by example.\nEnsure employees follow all safety procedures and required personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.\nPromote good housekeeping and ensure work areas are maintained in a clean, organized, and safe condition.\nCommunicate effectively with employees, management, Quality Control, Maintenance, and other departments as necessary to support production.\nFollow all Company policies, procedures, safety rules, quality requirements, and work instructions.\nPerform other duties as assigned based on business and operational needs.\nRequired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities\nDemonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and direct employees in a manufacturing environment.\nEffective verbal and written communication skills.\nAbility to work effectively with employees at varying levels of experience.\nAbility to make sound decisions and respond appropriately to production and employee issues.\nAbility to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.\nBasic reading, writing, and mathematical skills.\nAbility to read and follow detailed work instructions.\nBasic computer skills and ability to complete production-related documentation.\nWorking knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment.\nKnowledge of injection molding, thermoforming, CNC, fabrication, and/or assembly processes preferred.\nAbility to maintain confidentiality and exercise appropriate judgment when handling employee and business matters.\nAbility to work independently while maintaining effective communication with management and other departments.\nEducation and Experience\nHigh school diploma or GED required.\n3-5 years of demonstrated supervisory or leadership experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.\nEquivalent combination of education, training, and relevant manufacturing leadership experience may be considered.\nExperience working in a production/manufacturing environment required.\nExperience with injection molding, thermoforming, CNC, fabrication, or assembly is preferred.\nPhysical Requirements\nWhile performing the essential functions of this position, the employee may be required to:\nStand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.\nMove throughout the production area to observe operations and employee performance.\nUse hands and fingers to handle materials and equipment.\nTalk and listen effectively in a manufacturing environment.\nFrequently move between production areas and workstations.\nOccasionally lift or move items weighing up to approximately 50 pounds.\nSpend portions of the shift in an office or other designated area completing reports, documentation, and administrative duties.\nPerform duties requiring close vision, distance vision, and the ability to distinguish colors.\nReasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position.\nWork Environment\nThe employee will work primarily in a manufacturing production environment. Noise levels may range from moderate to high depending on the work area. The production environment may become hot during warmer months.\nRequired PPE in production areas includes safety glasses and hearing protection.
