The role also involves coaching and developing team members, strengthening customer relationships, monitoring portfolio quality and ensuring compliance with the institution’s policies and procedures.\n\nThe ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, commercial awareness, portfolio management skills and the ability to build a productive and professional team.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n1. Team Management and Development\n\nGuide, support and coach team members in planning and executing their daily and weekly activities to achieve established commercial objectives.\n\nStrengthen team capacity in line with Advans policies, procedures and best practices.\n\nCommunicate updates on sales strategies, product features, policies, procedures and methodologies, ensuring that team members understand and apply them effectively.\n\nParticipate in regular performance assessments and identify team members’ training and development needs.\n\nPromote teamwork, accountability and effective working relationships across the team.\n\n2. Performance Monitoring and Management\n\nContribute to setting commercial targets for employees under supervision.\n\nMonitor individual and team performance across credit, including productivity and portfolio quality, deposits and other financial services.\n\nIdentify performance gaps and recommend practical measures to improve productivity and achieve commercial objectives.\n\nTrack team performance against established targets and provide regular feedback to team members.\n\nSupport team members in addressing challenges affecting their performance.\n\n3. Business Development and Production\n\nDrive customer acquisition and actively support the development of new business opportunities.\n\nBuild and maintain sales relationships with strategic clients of the branch.\n\nAssess loan application risks, particularly through management visits, and participate in credit committee decisions within the approved delegation framework.\n\nSupport loan recovery activities when necessary and ensure compliance with established recovery procedures.\n\nPromote the institution’s financial products and services to strengthen business growth.\n\n4. Reporting and Communication\n\nProvide timely updates to the Branch Manager and/or Area Manager on relevant client information, team activities and overall business performance.\n\nEscalate operational issues, performance concerns and other relevant developments requiring management attention.\n\nMaintain effective communication between team members, branch management and the Head Office.\n\nShare relevant information and operational updates to ensure alignment across the team.\n\n5. Monitoring and Internal Controls\n\nConduct regular controls to identify and mitigate fraud risks, particularly credit misappropriation and fraudulent transactions.\n\nMonitor team members’ adherence to institutional policies, procedures and operational guidelines.\n\nIdentify irregularities and ensure appropriate corrective actions.\n\nAssess the quality of customer relationships managed by team members.\n\nPromote accountability, transparency and compliance across all team activities.\n\n6. Client and Institutional Representation\n\nBuild and maintain positive professional relationships with clients and local business partners.\n\nRepresent the institution professionally in interactions with clients and stakeholders.\n\nPromote customer satisfaction through effective service delivery and strong relationship management.\n\nFacilitate the smooth flow of information between team members, branch management and the Head Office.\n\nKey Challenges of the Role\n\nThe successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to:\n\nMaintain close and productive relationships with team members while exercising the authority required to achieve targets and enforce compliance.\n\nBuild and sustain a professional, supportive and conducive working environment.\n\nExercise sound managerial judgement and autonomy while supporting the Branch Manager in daily operations.\n\nLead by example and consistently demonstrate professionalism, accountability and integrity.\n\nBalance commercial performance expectations with compliance and effective risk management.\n\nEducational and Experience Requirements\n\nThe ideal candidate must possess:\n\nA Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field of study.\n\nA minimum of three (3) years’ experience in sales, credit and commercial financial activities.\n\nStrong proficiency in portfolio management.\n\nA demonstrated track record of achieving sales targets.\n\nProven ability to mentor, coach and support the professional development of colleagues and team members.\n\nDemonstrated ability to contribute
