The laboratory performs in-process and finished-product testing. This position is one of two analyst roles that support the ammonia and sulfuric acid production units. The chemist will work a rotating two-week schedule: Monday through Friday during the first week, followed by Monday through Wednesday and Saturday and Sunday during the second week. Standard work hours are 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Occasional overtime outside these hours may be required based on business needs.\nKey responsibilities include performing routine instrumental and wet-chemistry analyses to support ammonia and sulfuric acid production and recording the results electronically. The chemist will also prepare and document laboratory solutions, reagents, and quality-control check standards; collect samples as needed; and conduct environmental compliance testing at field locations throughout the plant.\nThis position is part of the Hopewell Quality Assurance team, which includes four additional chemists and approximately 30 union laboratory technicians.
