Provides spiritual care, consultation and short-term counseling to patients, families, physicians, and team members as assigned and in accordance withsite and system policies, facilitatessacramental ministries.\nResponds to codes, emergencies and/or crises. Assistsfamilies with their needs in relation to the patient’s illness so they can providesupportive care to the patient:assistsfamily members in understanding procedures surrounding a death and in contacting families or other significant persons. Promotes patient safety by reporting ofissues through established channels and participatingin safety initiatives.\nFacilitates and encourages discussion and decision making related to medical-ethical dilemmas, such as, termination of treatment, organ donation, do not resuscitate (DNR) orders, living wills and durable power of attorney, and ensures that religious/faith issues are addressed.\nSupports and interprets the mission and values of Advocate Aurora Health in clinical and departmental responsibilities and team member engagement.
