Includes working at all EM Urgent Care locations.\nPay Range:\n$41.10 - $61.65Major Responsibilities:\nTeaches and demonstrates proficiency in patient physical assessment skills, patient care and nursing skills (i.e. mobility, respiratory care, nutrition, pain management, oral care, preventing infection, lift equipment, vital sign monitoring equipment). \nReinforces policies and procedures, protocols and guidelines with nursing staff. \nCoordinates nursing centered rounds and bedside reporting in conjunction with the Nurse Manager/Case Manager with an ability to phase in multidisciplinary rounds \nProvides service line specific unit educational programs in collaboration with preceptors and Nursing Practice Development Specialist (NPDS) in class settings, informal on-site settings. Monitors compliance and attendance rosters. \nEnsures the quality of professional services by demonstrating and maintaining competency through updating knowledge and skills and continuing professional growth. \nCommunicates in an effective, positive, and professional manner role modeling behaviors associated with departmental expectations. \nCollaborate with nurse manager, assistant nurse manager, preceptors and NPDS to design, implement, and evaluate the nursing unit’s orientation and annual needs assessment education plan. \nCreates and maintains a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, self, co-workers, and facility including assisting in teaching interpretation of and developing strategies to address nurse sensitive indicators and performance improvement. \nSupports provision of age/developmentally appropriate patient care in accordance with Age/Developmental Specific Care Guidelines for the specific age groups served. \nMinimum Job Requirements Education:\nGraduation from an accredited school of nursing required; BSN required. \nCertification / Registration / License:\nCurrent licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in applicable state.\nBCLS required.\nExperience:\n3 years’ clinical experience in area of interest required. \nKnowledge / Skills / Abilities:\nProficient in use of Microsoft Office Ability to work collaboratively and maintain confidentiality.\nEffective organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.\nAbility to critically think, exercise judgment and discretion for problem solving and decision-making.\nAbility to prioritize work independently and meet deadlines.\nPositive negotiation and conflict resolution skills.\nKnowledge of policies and procedures.\nAbility to synthesize and prioritize knowledge.\nAbility to tailor teaching to different learning styles.\nUnderstanding of adult learning principles and instructional design. \nPhysical Requirements and Working Conditions:\nWork requires walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, stooping, bending, pushing, and pulling.\nMust be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies.\nMust speak and understand English fluently.\nIntact sense of sight, hearing, smell, and touch.\nFinger dexterity.\nCritical thinking and ability to concentrate.\nPreferred Certification / Registration / License:\nNational certification in specialty preferred, encouraged to obtain within one year of hire\nThis job description indicates the general nature and level of work expected of the incumbent.
