Together, we deliver innovative and ethical solutions that help businesses achieve their ambitions faster.\nImplementation Engineer\nAs an Implementation Engineer at Adyen, you will partner with fast-growing and enterprise businesses to design, integrate, and scale how they use Adyen’s payment platform.\nThis role sits at the center of complex technical delivery and pre-sales collaboration, where you help merchants make architectural decisions that directly impact performance, scalability, and global expansion. You’ll work on complex integration challenges where design decisions shape how global merchants operate at scale.\nThis position is based in Toronto, and the ideal candidate is both consultative and technical.\nWe are looking for technical consultants with strong experience in APIs, integrations, and technical delivery. You will act as the primary technical partner for merchants, owning projects from solution design through to successful launch.\nWhat you’ll do:\nDeliver end-to-end implementation projects from solution design through to go-live\nDesign and help merchants build high-performance, API-based integrations for complex systems.\nPartner closely with Sales during pre-sales to shape solutions, assess feasibility, and support technical discussions with prospective merchants\nAct as the primary technical partner for merchants, guiding architecture and integration decisions\nBuild alignment across Product, Engineering, Sales, and Project Management to drive the best outcomes for merchants\nGuide merchants through technical design decisions, testing, and production readiness\nImprove delivery quality by sharing best practices and helping elevate team knowledge\nSupport a culture of growth by sharing knowledge and helping others unblock and succeed\nAct as the voice of the merchant internally, translating customer needs and pain points into actionable insights for Product and Engineering\nAdvocate for improvements in Adyen’s products and integration experience based on recurring merchant challenges and feedback\nWho you are:\n5+ years of experience in technical consulting, integrations, or software engineering\nDeep understanding of APIs and experience working across frontend and backend systems\nComfortable making decisions in ambiguous environments\nSolid communicator who can lead technical discussions and build credibility with both technical and business stakeholders\nProactive builder who takes initiative to see projects through to completion.\nPragmatic approach focused on working, scalable solutions\nYou proactively share best practices to help the team grow and to ensure merchants deliver high-quality, reliable integrations\nOur Diversity, Equity and Inclusion commitments \nOur unique approach is a product of our diverse perspectives.
