Accountable for executing sourcing projects, conducting supplier evaluations, supporting contract negotiations, managing supplier performance, identifying cost optimisation opportunities and ensuring compliance with procurement governance requirements.\n\nJob Summary\n\nEmployer: AECI Mining\n\nJob Type: Full-time\n\nLocation: Gaborone, Botswana\n\nCategory: Procurement\n\nClosing Date: 2026-10-16\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nSupport development and execution of sourcing strategies for Engineering and Logistics categories\n\nExecute sourcing initiatives aligned to approved category strategies\n\nLead RFx activities, supplier evaluations, bid analysis, and supplier recommendations\n\nConduct market intelligence and supplier research to identify opportunities and risks\n\nIdentify alternative suppliers and sourcing options to improve supply continuity\n\nMonitor market trends, pricing movements, capacity constraints, and industry developments\n\nSupport procurement planning through spend and demand analysis\n\nMaintain sourcing pipelines and procurement tracking tools\n\nConduct ongoing spend analysis, market and supplier research to identify opportunities, risks, and alternative supply sources\n\nProvide input into Procurement dashboards and tracking tools\n\nProactively identify and mitigate supply and commercial risks within assigned categories\n\nEnsure procurement activities align with operational requirements\n\nConduct spend analysis to identify savings opportunities and value improvement initiatives\n\nSupport delivery of procurement savings and value creation targets\n\nApply Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) principles in sourcing decisions\n\nPerform basic cost modelling and commercial analysis\n\nSupport packaging standardisation and specification optimisation initiatives\n\nIdentify opportunities for localisation, supplier development, and operational efficiencies\n\nTrack and report realised savings, avoidance, and value creation benefits\n\nBuild and maintain a qualified supplier base for Engineering and Logistics categories\n\nSupport supplier onboarding and qualification processes\n\nMonitor supplier performance against agreed KPIs\n\nLead supplier performance reviews and corrective action follow-up\n\nDrive continuous improvement initiatives with suppliers\n\nSupport supplier development and BBBEE objectives where applicable\n\nEscalate supplier risks and performance issues proactively\n\nPartner with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Logistics, Supply Chain, Projects, SHEQ and Commercial stakeholders\n\nEnsure procurement activities remain aligned with business priorities\n\nProvide data-driven recommendations to support sourcing decisions\n\nSupport operational requirements through proactive supplier and sourcing management\n\nAssist with budgeting and forecasting processes through spend analysis\n\nAct as a trusted advisor on supplier and sourcing matters within assigned categories\n\nPromote adherence to procurement policies and governance requirements\n\nSupport the negotiation and implementation of supplier agreements\n\nAssist with contract drafting, renewals, extensions, and amendments\n\nEnsure contract compliance throughout the contract lifecycle\n\nMonitor contract utilisation and identify improvement opportunities\n\nTrack contract coverage and renewal requirements\n\nMaintain contract records and documentation\n\nEnsure compliance with procurement governance, delegated authorities, and company policies\n\nRequirements\n\nNational Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Logistics or related\n\nMechanical, Electrical, Industrial or Chemical Engineering qualification -
