Join us.\n AECOM is seeking an Air Quality Scientist III. The Natural Resources and Environmental Permitting Department in New York and New Jersey is seeking a qualified scientist (3-10 yrs experience) to perform air quality and/or noise impact analyses through using mathematical modeling tools and conducting ambient and source air and noise monitoring programs. Skills required for this position include but are not limited to:\nPerform field work in both urban and rural settings.\nStrong verbal and written communication skills required.\nAbility to work as part of a larger team is a must. \nEager to learn various air and noise modeling software.\n Minimum Qualifications\nAmbient and noise monitoring experience required. \nBS degree in Physics, Mathematics, Atmospheric Science, Environmental Engineering, or similar + 4 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.\nValid Driver’s License and as a condition of employment must be able to pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records review.\nDue to the nature of work, US Citizenship is required.\nPreferred Qualifications\nStrong analytical and computational skill.\nCandidate must have excellent technical writing skills and ability to effectively discussion his or her work.\nCandidate must be detail oriented and have the ability to work independently. \nCandidate must be experienced with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.\nExperience with ArcGIS, AutoCAD, AERMOD, MOVES, CadnaA or SoundPLAN, sound levels meter, and/or air monitoring equipment a plus. \n40 hour HAZWOPER training. \n Estimated office/field time: 70% / 30%.
