Join us.\n The Assistant Project Manager will support the management and delivery of multidisciplinary civil infrastructure design projects, working closely with the Project Manager and technical teams to maintain control of scope, programme, interfaces, risks, changes and project deliverables.\nThe role requires an individual with existing exposure to project or design management within an engineering consultancy environment, supported by a technical background in utilities, roads or transportation. The successful candidate should be comfortable working across disciplines rather than focusing solely on their original technical specialism.\nKey responsibilities\nSupport the Project Manager in the day-to-day management and coordination of multidisciplinary design projects.\nDevelop, monitor and update project programmes, milestones, deliverable schedules and resource requirements.\nCoordinate interfaces between technical disciplines and identify scope gaps, overlaps and dependencies.\nTrack project progress, risks, actions, approvals and key decisions, escalating issues where required.\nSupport project controls including resource forecasting, budget monitoring, progress reporting and performance tracking.\nIdentify potential scope changes early and support the preparation and management of variations/change requests.\nCoordinate with clients, authorities, subconsultants and other project stakeholders.\nSupport preparation for client and project meetings, including agendas, presentations, actions and follow-up.\nOversee the coordination of QA/QC, BIM and document control processes to ensure project requirements are followed.\nSupport authority submissions and approvals and maintain visibility of key approval dependencies.\nMaintain effective project information management, including correspondence, registers, trackers and project records.\nPromote lessons learned and continuous improvement across project delivery.\n Qualifications & experience\nBachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.\n3-7 years of relevant experience, including demonstrated exposure to project management and/or design management.\nTechnical background in utilities, roads and transportation infrastructure.\nPrevious engineering consultancy experience is essential.\nGood understanding of multidisciplinary design delivery and project lifecycle requirements.\nStrong working knowledge of project planning, project controls, risk and change management.\nExperience coordinating multiple disciplines, stakeholders and project interfaces.\nWorking knowledge of authority requirements, regulations and approval processes in Abu Dhabi, with exposure to Dubai and Saudi Arabia considered advantageous.\nStrong organizational, communication and stakeholder-management skills.\nFamiliarity with scheduling and project management tools such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.\nPMP or equivalent project management qualification is advantageous.\n At AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously.
