Join us.\n We are seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Assistant Resident Engineer to join our dynamic team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. In this role, you will provide essential technical support to the Resident Engineer and project team, ensuring that all construction works meet statutory requirements, contractual obligations, and quality standards. You will be instrumental in maintaining site compliance, coordinating between contractors and design teams, and documenting all construction activities with precision and professionalism. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your engineering expertise while contributing meaningfully to significant construction projects in a supportive and innovative work environment.\nAssist the Resident Engineer in performing statutory duties and technical competent person requirements as mandated by local regulatory authorities\nConduct regular on-site inspections to verify that construction works comply with approved plans, method statements, and safety protocols\nReview and analyze contractor-proposed construction sequences, temporary works, and late-cast openings to ensure structural integrity and feasibility\nMonitor and support the work of the contractor's technical competent persons, providing guidance and ensuring adherence to project standards\nServe as a liaison between the contractor, site team, and design office, facilitating clear communication and timely resolution of construction-related issues\nIdentify and document non-conformities with transparency and detail, escalating issues to the Resident Engineer and relevant stakeholders\nImplement and monitor quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) systems, site safety protocols, and environmental management practices\nPrepare and contribute to comprehensive site reports, inspection records, defect reports, and QA/QC documentation on a regular basis\nMaintain organized and accessible filing systems for all correspondence, site records, construction drawings, and regulatory approvals\nAttend site progress meetings, QA/QC meetings, and other project-related meetings, actively contributing to collaborative problem-solving\nEnforce compliance with ethics policies, including third-party payment procedures, sub-consultancy engagement processes, and organizational guidelines\nPerform additional duties as assigned by the Resident Engineer or project management team, demonstrating flexibility and commitment to project success\n **Required Qualifications:**\nBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Geotechnical Engineering; or equivalent higher diploma/certificate in civil or structural engineering\nMinimum 2 years of relevant post-degree experience in civil or structural engineering on construction projects; or minimum 5 years of relevant experience post higher diploma\nDemonstrated experience with superstructure works, civil drainage systems, and site formation activities\nStrong knowledge of construction compliance, statutory requirements, and regulatory standards\nProficiency in site inspection, quality assurance, and quality control methodologies\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills in English\nProficiency in site documentation, report writing, and record-keeping systems\nStrong organizational and time management skills with meticulous attention to detail\nAbility to analyze construction drawings, method statements, and temporary works designs\nDemonstrated ability to work effectively in multicultural and collaborative team environments\n**Preferred Qualifications:**\nExperience with geotechnical engineering or geotechnical-heavy building projects\nTechnical Competent Person (TCP) certification or equivalent statutory qualification\nFamiliarity with construction management software and digital documentation tools\nExperience working on large-scale infrastructure or commercial building projects in the Middle East\nKnowledge of UAE-specific building codes and regulatory requirements\nProblem-solving mindset with the ability to make decisive recommendations under pressure\nExperience in safety protocol enforcement and environmental management practices\n At AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously.
