Join us.\n AECOM is seeking a motivated and technically strong Bridge Engineer to join our Transportation team in Providence, RI. The successful candidate will support the planning, analysis, design, rehabilitation, and inspection of highway and railroad bridge projects throughout the Northeast and across the United States.\nThis position offers the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of bridge and transportation infrastructure projects while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams of engineers, planners, and construction professionals. The ideal candidate is a licensed Professional Engineer with experience delivering bridge design projects and a desire to further develop technical and project management skills.\nResponsibilities:\nPerform structural analysis and design of bridge components and transportation structures.\nPrepare bridge design calculations, contract plans, specifications, and cost estimates.\nDevelop and review design documents in accordance with AASHTO, DOT, AREMA, and project-specific standards.\nUtilize engineering software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, MIDAS Civil, LARSA, SAP2000, CSiBridge, or similar structural analysis and design programs.\nCoordinate with roadway, traffic, geotechnical, hydraulic, environmental, and construction disciplines.\nSupport bridge inspections, condition assessments, load ratings, and rehabilitation projects.\nParticipate in quality control reviews and ensure compliance with AECOM quality procedures.\nAssist with proposal preparation, technical reports, and client presentations.\nMentor entry-level engineers and contribute to the technical development of the bridge team.\nMinimum Requirements:\nBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a structural engineering emphasis or related field + 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.\nProfessional Engineer (PE) license.\nExperience in bridge design and transportation structures.\nExperience preparing bridge plans, calculations, and technical reports.\nWorking knowledge of AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications.\nExperience with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD.\nPreferred Qualifications\nMaster's degree in Structural Engineering.\nExperience with RIDOT, MassDOT, CTDOT, or other state DOT bridge projects.\nAt least 3 years of experience in bridge design and transportation structures.\nFamiliarity with bridge load rating and rehabilitation design.\nExperience with structural analysis software such as MIDAS Civil, LARSA 4D, SAP2000, CSI Bridge, or LEAP.\nInspection experience and familiarity with NBIS requirements.\nInterest in developing project management and client relationship skills.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\nAbility to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.\n Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.\nRelocation is not available for this position.\nAt AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously.
